Techland has released the significant 1.3 update for Dying Light: The Beast to round out October 2025. While the list of changes isn't massive in Dying Light: The Beast 1.3, there are still some important changes and additions here.
Dying Light: The Beast was met with solid reviews upon its release last month, receiving praise for being a strong continuation of the areas in which the series thrives. It was perhaps not a massive step forward in terms of reinventing the wheel, but when it comes to being more of what Dying Light fans love, The Beast does that admirably. However, Techland isn't content with its initial reception, and continues to improve the game via new updates.
Dying Light: The Beast's Parkour Is Equal Parts Pilgrimage and Perspective
High above Castor Woods, Dying Light: The Beast turns every rooftop into a lens, shifting the world’s beauty into something both fragile and profound.
The latest is the 1.3 update, which has been released right at the end of October 2025. The headline addition is a new surrender mechanic, which allows enemies wielding melee weapons in Dying Light: The Beast to recognize when the player is pointing a firearm in their direction. Rather than fight and lose their life, some enemies will choose to surrender. According to Techland, "this scenario can unfold in a number of ways, but we’ll leave them to you to discover." The previously revealed PUBG Mobile collaboration is also set to go live on October 31, giving players access to a limited-time quest and items until November 21.
There have also been nine new weapon executions added across different weapon types in the new Dying Light: The Beast update, as well as a bunch of miscellaneous progression, graphical, and performance fixes. To top it off, there are also some small balance changes. Techland has brought down the cost of wiring used for weapon crafting and upgrades, increased the oxidizers looted, and made survivors in Encounters "more resistant to player and enemy hits."
Although 1.3 is a good step forward for Dying Light: The Beast, it's a drop in the ocean compared to what players can expect from the game over the next couple of months. Earlier this month, Dying Light: The Beast shared its 11-week DLC roadmap, revealing that features such as New Game+, Legend Levels, Ray Tracing, and Nightmare Difficullty are all planned to be added before January 7, 2026.

DYING LIGHT: THE BEAST x PUBG MOBILE COLLABORATION (starting October 31st)
PUBG MOBILE is coming to Dying Light: The Beast with a new quest and a set of rewards.

Your rewards for completing this new quest will be a collection of PUBG Mobile-themed items. Whack zombies with the series’ iconic Killing Pan, hit a homerun with the Battle Royale Bat, or use both to leave the infected with some serious headaches, thanks to their increased skull damage. Additionally grab the new Marked Man outfit and wear the individual Gear Items to earn more XP, deal more headshot damage and make bullets even more devastating with increased firearm damage. And that’s still not all! Affix the Battleground Keychain charm to your trusty weapon to increase your chances of the three D’s: decapitating, dismembering or destroying enemy limbs.
So, what are you waiting for? There might be a bounty on your head, but the rewards will be worth it. The Dying Light: The Beast x PUBG Mobile quest will be available from October 31 until November 21, 2025.
