The highly anticipated Hellraid DLC for Dying Light now has a release date. Techland announced on Friday that Hellraid will be available for Dying Light players to download and play starting on July 23 across all supported platforms, and will reportedly cost players $9.99 in total.
Hellraid, for those unfamiliar, was originally planned to be a standalone game. In 2015, Hellraid's development was put on indefinite hold so that Techland could focus on Dying Light. Then, in April earlier this year, Techland announced a special Hellraid DLC for Dying Light, perhaps allowing the company to reuse some of the shelved game's assets for something productive.
Like the standalone game was planned to be, the Hellraid DLC is a dark fantasy experience with melee combat and sorcery. It'll just use Dying Light's gameplay instead of something wholly original. To explain how the fantasy experience exists in the Dying Light world, it'll be played through an arcade machine found in-game.
For those anxious to play more Dying Light, to experience Hellraid for themselves, the DLC is going to have a beta event for pre-orderers. Anyone that buys the DLC early will have access to the beta through Steam. The beta will run from June 26 through June 29.
Dying Light is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Hellraid launches on July 23.
