Despite this, Techland seems convinced that Dying Light 2 will meet its planned 2021 release date, and so fans of the game should expect a new gameplay reveal sooner rather than later. While fans wait for a new trailer or other official details for Dying Light 2, a recently filed trademark may reveal a new subtitle for the game.
As spotted by Gaming Route, it seems Techland is attempting to trademark Dying Light 2: Stay Human, which would potentially be the game's full title when it launches later this year. Alternatively, Stay Human could instead be a tagline that Techland plans to use when advertising Dying Light 2, or maybe it refers to a special, alternate version of the game, like the inevitable Digital Deluxe Edition, for example. The trademark could also be for a Dying Light 2 DLC expansion, but that seems highly unlikely. It's also possible that Techland doesn't plan on using the trademark at all. Until Techland decides to address it, all fans can do is speculate.
While Techland has been mostly silent about Dying Light 2 since first revealing the game at Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference, that has changed in recent months. Apparently, Dying Light 2 will have a 20 hour long story, with completionists looking at roughly 40 to 60 hours of gameplay depending on how fast they make their way through the game and its side activities.
Techland has also touched on what fans can expect from Dying Light 2's open world, which sounds to be massive in scale when compared to the original game. And finally, the company has confirmed that Dying Light 2 will not go next-gen only, meaning those on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can still look forward to playing the game later this year, assuming it still releases in 2021 as expected.
The Dying Light 2 release date still being planned for 2021 is a good sign that more substantial information on the game will likely be revealed soon. Fans should keep an eye out and see if the Stay Human trademark amounts to anything.
