Dungeons and Dragons just announced a slew of officially licensed products, including a coloring book, crochet book, two different journals, and a new entry in the Young Adventurer’s series. Four of these five Dungeons and Dragons books will be released in November 2025, in time for the holiday season, while the Dungeons & Dragons Crochet: A Book of Many Patterns arrives in March 2026.
It is not an exaggeration to say Dungeons and Dragons has exploded in popularity over the last decade, thanks to actual plays like Critical Role and hit video games like Baldur’s Gate 3. While this has led to plenty of innovations within the TTRPG system itself, it has also sparked some unique spin-off books, such as Heroes’ Feast, the official Dungeons and Dragons cookbook.
Dungeons & Dragons' Yearly Releases Have Opened a Can of Worms That Can't Be Closed
Wizards of the Coast might have the ideal publishing rhythm with Dungeons & Dragons' nostalgic modules, but it could be a rhythm it can't sustain.
New Dungeons and Dragons Books for 2025/2026
- The Warriors & Wizards Compendium: A Young Adventurer's Guide – November 4
- Dragons of the Realms: An Official Dungeons & Dragons Coloring Book – November 18
- The Dungeon Master's Campaign Journal – November 18
- The Player's Campaign Journal – November 18
- Dungeons & Dragons Crochet: A Book of Many Patterns – March 31, 2026
Now, Wizards of the Coast has teamed up with Ten Speed Press and Clarkson Potter to create even more official books that Dungeons and Dragons fans can use both during and after their games. The Warriors & Wizards Compendium: A Young Adventurer's Guide is the latest entry in a series geared towards getting children and young adults into D&D, which includes kid-friendly advice on how to make and play characters for the TTRPG system. Additionally, Dragons of the Realms is a new coloring book centered around the iconic namesake monsters of D&D, while The Player’s Campaign Journal and The Dungeon Master’s Campaign Journal are tools that feature prompts, indexes, and templates to help everyone at the table better chronicle their adventures, whether they are playing or running the Dungeons and Dragons game.
Lastly, Dungeons and Dragons Crochet: A Book of Many Patterns introduces over 20 patterns that can be used to craft iconic items, monsters, and symbols from the TTRPG in real life. Wearable Gloves of Missle Snaring, a useable Bag of Holding, granny squares featuring the symbols of the Schools of Magic in Dungeons and Dragons, a d20 pillow, and plushies of an owlbear cub, mimic, gelatenous cube, beholder, and the Hand and Eye of Vecna are just some of the many patterns gamers will find within it.
Most of these books are coming out later this year – A Young Adventurer’s Guide releases November 4, while the journals and coloring book all drop on November 18. A Book of Many Patterns will instead go on sale March 31, 2026, with all of them available wherever books are sold.
The Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Adventures in Faerun sourcebooks release on November 11, making it a particularly big month for fans. That said, with the new Heroes of the Borderland starter set in September, the Stranger Things: Welcome to the Hellfire Club box set in October, and Eberron: Forge of the Artificer in December, the rest of this year promises to be just as exciting.
