There are plenty of games set in the Dungeons and Dragons  universe, but it's always great to see more of them. Luckily for fans of the Dungeons and Dragons  franchise, The Wizards of the West Coast have announced an all-new title for fans to play through, Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance.

Not a lot of information was revealed about Dark Alliance, besides it being an action RPG and that it will apparently involve multiple locations from the Dungeons and Dragons  universe, including settings like Icewind Dale. Not only that, but the game will feature some characters from the Dungeons and Dragons  mythos, including Drizzt Do'Urden and the Companions of the Hall.

Other than that, the game is mostly a mystery. The fact that the previously-teased Dungeons and Dragons  game is an ARPG means that fans can likely expect something in the same vein as the recently announced Diablo 4,  but there will have to be more information before any true comparisons can be drawn. Dungeons and Dragons  has a long history with video games as a whole, though it is good to see more in the pipeline.

Dark Alliance  appears to be a successor to the original Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance  games from the early 2ooos, which should get longtime fans of Dungeons and Dragons  games excited. It's impossible to tell now, but hopefully, the new game will live up to the original's name. At the very least, hopefully the game will be able to add to the ever-growing pile of savage Dungeons and Dragons  memes currently on the internet.

For those after a more traditional game, there's still Baldur's Gate 3  to look forward to, though there hasn't been much information on that quite yet either. However, with 2020 just on the horizon, it's hard to imagine that there won't be some new information on either title sometime soon.

Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance  doesn't have a release date.
