Surviving in Dungeonborne largely depends on the gear you are wearing and the potions in your inventory. While you can loot both gear and potions, the most efficient way requires you to craft them yourself by using various materials and supplies. Some of these crafting materials can be easy to find. Others require you to put in a lot more effort. For new players wondering how to get more resources, here is what you need to know about getting and using materials and supplies in Dungeonborne.

How to Get Materials in Dungeonborne

Dungeonborne - Materials List
Dungeonborne features seven different crafting materials.

Between the Blacksmith and the Alchemist, Dungeonborne features seven different types of crafting materials. They are mainly obtained by looting dungeons and dismantling gear of different rarity types. While there are also other ways to get materials in the game, you will mostly be grinding dungeon after dungeon to extract as many items as possible. The table below points out every single material you will need to level up (and improve) your character to dominate enemy players in PvP duels.

Tips to Get Materials Fast in Dungeonborne

Dungeonborne - Free Materials
The merchant sometimes gives away free materials in Dungeonborne.

While you do have the option of buying materials and supplies, it is recommended to save your gold for the late game. If your crafting items are green or blue, wait until you have the necessary materials. If you must spend gold, do it on higher-rarity items. Always avoid spending gold early on in Dungeonborne. This is because you need gold to buy cheap gear off the marketplace to dismantle for materials—more on that below.

  • Sinner's End is the best dungeon map for farming high-rarity gear in Dungeonborne. Keep your gear score under three or four, and you will be pitted against casual enemies. Every Sinner's End run can net plenty of uncommon and magic gear that can be dismantled for materials.
  • Necklaces are the best items to loot in Dungeonborne. They take the least inventory space but still yield a significant amount of materials upon being dismantled. Rings are fine as well, but ignore looting weapons since they take up too much space.
  • While it is important to manage inventory space to pack more loot, it is equally important to prioritize high-rarity items. Crafting late-game items requires a lot of high-level gear to dismantle. So do not throw away that two-handed epic hammer even if it takes half of your inventory space.
  • The marketplace (or Trade tab) can often feature cheap gear. If you have made a lot of gold by selling unwanted items, buy some epic necklaces to dismantle them for materials.
  • Check your quest log. There are always daily, weekly, and seasonal quests that reward materials and supplies in Dungeonborne. The horoscope tab features time-dependent quests, so try to complete them first.
  • Target smaller bugs and monsters instead of the larger ones. They are easier to kill and often always drop supplies.
  • The alluring Merchant often gives away crafting materials and supplies for free. Always check all of her tabs to see what is up for sale.
  • With Dungeonborne in early access, keep an eye on your messages. The developer often sends rewards to new players or as compensation for service disruptions.
