At the start of their Dune: Awakening journey, players will choose a starting class, granting them one skill and the opportunity to unlock more as they level up. However, players aren't restricted to just one class, thanks to the ability to unlock skills from other disciplines. To do so, players must find trainers for these specific classes.

For those looking to enhance their melee combat and prowess with a blade, this guide will show players where to find the Swordmaster trainer in order to unlock the Swordmaster Skills in Dune: Awakening.

Where To Find The Swordmaster Trainer In Dune: Awakening

Dune Awakening - Pinnacle Station Map

Compared with finding the Trooper and Planetologist trainers respectively, players face a fair trek to reach the Swordmaster trainer, and realistically, they will need a Sandbike at the very least.

Arno the Swordmaster trainer can be found at the Pinnacle Station, which is in the far northwest corner of the Jabal Eifrit Al-gharb region. This is south and east of the Eastern Shieldwall region.

How To Unlock The Swordmaster Skills In Dune: Awakening

Dune Awakening - Arno Swordmaster

Arno will not teach players without them first helping him. By talking to him and asking to learn from him, he will grant the 'Swordmaster: Basics: Checking The Post' contract. Players will need to complete this to unlock the Swordmaster Skills.

This contract will also grant 700 XP and 5,500 Solari, which can be spent at the Pinnacle Station Tradepost. Expect to do a lot of traveling for this contract. The following objectives are best completed in order, as players will gain new map markers each time.

  • Find the Devil's Eye Cavern.
  • Search the Wreck of the Pallas.
  • Search Imperial Testing Station No.76.
  • Return to Arno at the Pinnacle Station.

Having an Ornithopter will really help with this contract, as otherwise players will have to drive around many obstacles.

Find The Devil's Eye Cavern In Dune: Awakening

Other than a long drive east of the Swordmaster's location, the Devil's Eye Cavern is the easiest part of this contract. Simply follow the map marker, and outside the cavern is just one enemy. Inside, players simply need to find the white box shown above and interact with it.

Search The Wreck Of The Pallas In Dune: Awakening

Dune Awakening - Pallas Wreck Map Location

After completing the previous objective, players will get a marker for the Wreck of the Pallas. It is northwest of The Anomaly, and players will need to traverse the open sands, so be careful. As with all shipwrecks in Dune: Awakening, this is also a PvP area, so try not to carry too many resources in case you die. Hopefully, you won't encounter anyone, though, and if you do, they might not be hostile.

Thankfully, the only NPCs are scattered around the downed ship and are easy to avoid. Players can enter from the sides, the back, or holes in the roof.

Find A Green Identification Band

The aim is to get to the front of the ship, but to do so, players will need to find a green Identification Band. This can be found on one of the platforms while looking West-Northwest. The door will be covered, meaning players must cut through it using a Cutterray. Inside, players should see a green glow.

By taking this, players can then walk through the green sealed doors to the end of the ship. There's a lot to loot, but the main objective is a large black box up against the farthest wall. Simply interact with this to complete the objective.

Dune Awakening - What's the Max Level Cap
Dune Awakening: What's the Max Level Cap?

While there is a level cap in Dune: Awakening, players won't have to worry about it for some time.

Search Imperial Testing Station No.76 In Dune: Awakening

Dune Awakening - Imperial Testing Station 76 Map

After finishing the first two objectives, players will gain a map marker for Imperial Testing Station No.76. Outside this location, players may encounter a few enemies, and inside, they will certainly face many more. In fact, the NPCs inside the Testing Station are fairly hard, with many of them having shields that must be pierced multiple times.

Players can't really get too lost and will find plenty of great loot in this location, as well as several water dispensers. After the last fight, players should look around the room until they see an upper office with a ramp, all overgrown with weeds.

Inside here, there is a machine from which a Coded Message quest item can be looted. This simply needs to be returned to Arno. While you're in this location, don't forget to open the secret door indicated by a yellow book on the bookcase.

Upon returning to Arno, players will finally unlock the Swordmaster Skill Tree.
