Dune: Awakening is a mixture of survival crafting and MMO, and it has such an enormous map that it can take hours for the players to barely get their bearings around Hagga Basin and the Deep Desert. Players are wondering how long it will take to complete the main story and how long the game will last in terms of gameplay hours.

Dune Awakening - What's the Max Level Cap
Dune Awakening: What's the Max Level Cap?

While there is a level cap in Dune: Awakening, players won't have to worry about it for some time.

In this guide, readers will find all the information they need to know about Dune: Awakening's length, how long it takes to beat the game, and how long it will take to complete the game at 100%, including all achievements, quests, sub-quests, and Deep Desert exploration.

This guide might contain spoilers for Dune: Awakening's main story and quests. Readers should proceed with caution.

How Long To Complete Dune: Awakening Main Quest?

To complete the Dune: Awakening Main Quest, players will have to clear the tutorial/introductory questline, plus overcome all the Trials of Aql, and follow the remaining Find The Fremen questline at each of the areas of Hagga Basin, which are:

  • Vermillius Gap
  • Hagga Rift
  • Jabal Eifrit
  • The Shield Wall
  • O'dham
  • The Sheol

At each of these locations, players will need to complete a series of quests (a total of 52) related to crafting, and deeper game mechanics that will allow them to survive the trials to come while they explore the Deep Desert in search of clues as to what happened to the Fremen. Each of the Trials of Aql not only unlocks the Spice-related powers, but also Fremen technologies such as the Thumper, a tool used to call and distract the Sandworm, the Stilltent, a portable refuge to survive sandstorms, and the Ground Compactor, a useful tool to gather some of the resources pouring out of the sand.

Dune Awakening: When Do Resources Respawn

Resources, enemies, and chests respawn periodically in Dune: Awakening, allowing players to gather more of what they need. Here is how long it takes.

To this, players need to add the Trainer Quests and Sub-Quests that pop up in each of the zones, and if players want to unlock the game at 100% (and get all the achievements), they will need to complete them, and they are time-consuming. In total, it can take players at least 40 to 50 hours of gameplay, depending on their luck, how many times they die, or if they get eaten by the Sandworm, which is to be avoided at all costs, since players will lose all their gear and thus, part of their progress.

It is also possible to rush the game and complete solely the Main Quests, but it will take a lot of good luck not to encounter any setbacks along the way. Plus, players will have to climb tons of high places and skip most of the technologies they need to do so, so completing the Trials of Aql will become a true nightmare. Finding all the locations is one thing, but reaching them without an Ornithopter can be problematic, to say the least.

How Long To Complete Dune Awakening At 100%

Besides uncovering the fate of the Fremen following the main story mission, players will also have to explore the whole Hagga Basin map, which they will need to unlock using Survey Probes. Plus, all the nodes in the Deep Desert, which are 82 different extra zones to explore using Survey Probes.

Besides the PvE relatively 'safe zone,' the inner section of the Deep Desert holds a PvP zone that could be considered the most dangerous place in all Arrakis. Players will be subjected to the constant threat of the merciless Sun at its maximum heat output, plus radiation zones, and to add an extra layer of difficulty, rapacious rivals ready to take all their valuable loot the second they step into the PvP zone.

Not to mention all the Faction conflict called the War of Assassins, and the Landsraad clan's goals to control the flow of spice and the buffs the server has active. Playing in clans might not be for everyone, but constitutes one of the peak gameplay contents for the endgame, with open warfare, aerial battles using Assault Ornithopters, and the risky yet rewarding Spice farming operations using the Sandcrawlers.

The game currently has 72 achievements to unlock, some of which are hidden. So players will have to work really hard and invest at least 100+ hours in Dune: Awakening if they want to see it all.
