Duet Night Abyss is designed to be a dual-narrative game, where players will experience the story from the perspective of two main characters (MC). Naturally, players will have the liberty to choose which MC they want to see moving forward, so here's what you need to know about the main characters in DNA, including the second main character.

Main Character In Duet Night Abyss
There are a total of four main characters in Duet Night Abyss. Two are the initial protagonists you can choose at the start of the game, while the second main character will be revealed later on, after progressing through the main quest.
Second Main Character In Duet Night Abyss
The second main character in Duet Night Abyss will be revealed in the Beyond the Sands quest, which will occur on Trial Rank 24, after The Black Iron And White Flower mission, which unlocks the co-op feature in DNA.
After choosing the second MC, you'll be taken to another chain of main quests, in a place completely different from the first main character.
Eventually, the second main character will return to the area where the first main character is, but as of version 1.0, there are no interactions between the two, except within the dream, which aligns with the fact that the second main character was introduced as The Boy/Girl in the Dream.
Main Character Names In Duet Night Abyss
There are two versions of each main character, two first MC, and two second MC. Both sets have the same default name, regardless of which model you pick.
The main character in Duet Night Abyss (the Phoxhunter), is called Vita, whereas the second main character in DNA (the Boy/Girl in the Dream) is named Mors. Of course, you can rename them upon selecting the model, but these are the default names assigned by the developer, which will help if you're unsure about what to name the MCs.
Which Main Character Should You Choose In Duet Night Abyss?
The quick answer is to pick whichever you prefer. You can choose the same models for both main characters according to your preference, or choose different models for the first and second main characters for a variety.
There's no indication of which main character is more canon than the other, but the initial dream of the protagonist will have the opposite model. Therefore, it would feel more natural if you chose the model that appears in your dream as your second main character, which is the opposite of your first MC.
Can You Change The Main Character In DNA?
Unfortunately, as of version 1.0, you can't change the main character in Duet Night Abyss. If the game follows the footsteps of Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail, this will likely stay this way, meaning players should be sure about which MC they want to have. Alternatively, if the developer did what Wuthering Waves does, then there's a chance that players may be able to swap MC in the future.
