The Ornate Box Quest is one of the many Quests triggered upon reaching the capital of Vermund, Vernworth, in Dragon’s Dogma 2. A boy is seen running away from an officer and players must make a crucial decision before triggering the Quest.
There are few NPCs related to the Ornate Box Quest, so there’s no need to walk all over the capital just to speak to a certain character in Dragon’s Dogma 2. On the other hand, the Quest will take a while to complete, as players must check on the boy every few days in-game time.

How To Trigger The Ornate Box Quest In Dragon’s Dogma 2
To trigger the Ornate Box Quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you must travel to Vernworth, the capital of Vermund. Usually, Officer Gregor insisted on accompanying players to the capital from Melve after Arisens helped the villagers in the destroyed village.
Upon reaching Vernworth, Officer Brant "welcomes" players and takes them to a private room for questioning, which triggers the Seat of the Sovran Quest. Get out of the room to stumble upon a mysterious boy running away from Norman. The latter asks Arisens for directions, and they can Lie or tell the Truth. Lie to Norman and the boy will thank you only to run away with a promise to meet again.
How To Complete The Ornate Box Quest In Dragon's Dogma 2
After a few days pass, the boy who turns out to be named Sven is seen arguing with Auriol near the entrance of the Merchant Quarter in the capital. Auriol shoos him away because he doesn’t have any money. Speak with Sven to find out that he wants the Ornate Box at Auriol’s shop but doesn’t possess money.
Where To Buy The Ornate Box
Head to Auriol’s shop and buy the
Ornate Box for 1000 Gold in Dragon’s Dogma 2. If, by any chance, Arisens helped his granddaughter buy medicine in Melve, Auriol will have 20% off on all his merchandise, which means the Ornate Box will cost 800 Gold instead of the usual 1000. Return to Sven and give him the box, who thanks the players and promises to compensate them later.
From this point onward, you need to meet with Sven three times in the Merchant Quarter for the Ornate Box Quest to complete. Each encounter is separated by a few days in-game time. Completing the Quest rewards 4000 Gold, 900 XP, Courtly Breeches, and Courtly Trousers. The last two items are attire that can be used to improve the Dragon's Dogma 2 character appearance, granting players access to places with strict dress codes.
The First Encounter
During the first encounter, Sven will again thank players and explain that he always lived a sheltered life thanks to his overprotective mother. He explains how he wishes to be free and ends the encounter by giving players a
Jasper gem.
The Second Encounter
In the second encounter, after a few days, Sven has almost the same conversation with the Arisen and emphasizes how he needs to run away constantly to feel free and do normal stuff any boy his age would. The encounter is complete once the boy rewards you with the Ring of Accrual.
The Third Encounter
In the third and final encounter, Sven looks determined to alter his fate and promises players he will do his best to change. The final reward in this Dragon's Dogma 2 Quest is a
Ferrystone.
