Before searching for the save files, there’s one step that you need to complete to start a new game, and that is to disable the Steam Cloud sync of Dragon’s Dogma 2. If not, the game will automatically load a cloud save file even after you delete the save file, making it impossible for you to begin a fresh game. To disable the Steam Cloud sync:

Go to your Steam Library.
Select Properties by right-clicking on Dragon's Dogma 2 from the list of games in your library.
Disable the Steam Cloud save feature from the General tab by toggling it off.

Once you finish that, it's time to look for the saved files of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Follow these easy steps:

Go to File Explorer.
Follow this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[your steam username]\2054970
Once you have entered the game’s folder, go to remote>win64_save, and you will find all the saved files for your game.

If you have multiple Steam accounts, you may see various folders with different numbers in the titles. You will need to browse through each of your profiles' distinct folders to find the one containing the save files and the Dragon's Dogma 2 game ID, which is 2054970. If you have the Steam client saved on any drive other than the C drive, you must search for the game saved file inside the ‘Steam’ folder on that specific drive.

How to Start a New Character in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Without Losing the Older One

Now that you have found the Dragon’s Dogma 2’s saved files, you must delete them to start a new game. But before that, it is highly recommended to keep a backup of all the files on a separate drive so that you can load them back in case you want to bring back your old character.

After an update on March 29, Capcom added the option for the players to start a new game from the game's menu, even with existing save data. However, starting a new game from the menu will permanently erase your older save.
