Dragon's Dogma 2 is the long-awaited next installment in the popular franchise by Capcom, and has players assuming the role of the Arisen as they fulfill their destiny as the one true enemy of the Dragon. Players will explore an expansive world, alongside their faithful Pawn, encountering a great number of creatures, both great and small, that each pose unique threats to the Arisen and their company.

One tactic players can use when trying to escape an overwhelming number of enemies or one particularly powerful foe is to use the environment to their advantage. With the waters in Dragon's Dogma 2 being accessible to all characters, it is worth knowing how to destroy bridges in the game to escape harm and send foes to a watery grave. This guide will direct you on how to do this, as well as how to repair the damaged bridges, so they can be used again in the future.

How To Destroy Bridges In Dragon's Dogma 2

Players who encounter significant threats in the form of great beasts or an overwhelming swarm of Hobgoblins can use some of the rope bridges in Dragon's Dogma 2 as an environmental advantage and a guarantee of safe passage, thus avoiding losing any members of your party. They can do this by destroying the bridge, which will cut off access to you and will seal the fate of anyone unfortunate enough to be standing on the bridge.

To destroy a bridge, players will need to approach one of the beams holding the bridge together and attack it. This will be a relatively simple process, regardless of your vocation, as it will work with either melee weapons, ranged weapons, or a simple front kick. It will take a couple of strikes before the wood shatters, which will then trigger the other beam on the same side of the bridge to break and collapse the whole structure.

This method won't work on all bridges, only those that are held together by ropes. It works on both small and larger rope bridges, but you won't have the same success with structures with stone beams.

A notice in Dragon's Dogma 2 next to a repaired bridge

While it may seem foolish to destroy a bridge in Dragon's Dogma 2, as it can make it difficult to travel through Vermund and its surrounding areas, and swimming is not an option due to the beasts that dwell beneath the surface, there is an opportunity for the bridges to be repaired. This, however, cannot be done by players or their Pawns, but rather by unfortunate workers who are tasked with fixing the damage.

Repairing a bridge in Dragon's Dogma 2 simply requires that players return to the broken bridge after a few days, as the structure is fixed in your absence. If you happen to forget which bridge you destroyed, there will be a angry notice next to the new bridge from the workers who had to repair the damage.
