There are two methods of getting around the world of Dragon's Dogma 2: Oxcart or Portcrystal. While Oxcarts are found easily in settlements like Vernworth and Checkpoint Rest Town, they will slowly become less reliable, especially when trying to travel between two further regions in the game or to a specific location. While it costs a lot more, using Ferrystones to travel to Portcrystals is a much more useful method of fast travel.
Ferrystones are a consumable item that instantly teleports players to any placed Portcrystal on the map. This can be done as often as players have Ferrystones to use. While they are fairly different to come by early in the game, Ferrystones will slowly become more abundant, and it helps to know where to look for them when trying to stock up.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Things To Do Before The Final Quest
Much like any open-world game, the final quest in Dragon's Dogma 2 is a a point of no return, which lets players complete these other key tasks first.
Where To Get Ferrystones in DD2
The most effective method for obtaining Ferrystones is by purchasing them at a merchant, as this method provides an infinite amount but at a high cost. Ferrystones can be bought from the general store in any major town, as indicated by the potion icon on the map. Ferrystones everywhere are sold for 10,000 gold a piece, with merchants replenishing their stocks after two days of in-game time.
Ferrystones are also a common reward for completing quests and looting chests. One easy Ferrystone can be collected from the Vocation Guild by trading in one Seeker Token. Earlier into the game, Ferrystones are given as a reward for completing 'Twixt A Rock And A Hard Place, Trouble On The Cap, The Caged Magistrate, and A Veil Of Gossamer Clouds, which are all found in the first region of the game.
Ferrystones can also be dropped from some of the larger monsters in the world, but it's not always guaranteed. These monsters are Giffins, Golems, Drakes, and Goreminotaurs, with Golems having the highest drop rate. Ferrystones are also a common item obtained from chests found as players explore, so be sure to summon a Pawn that knows the area and can point out chests for you.
It is also worth noting to players that reach the True Ending for Dragon's Dogma 2 and enter the Unmoored World that there are an abundance of Ferrystones to be found on the seabed. Simply venture through this area and be on the lookout for chests and sparkling items, as there are plenty of them to find here.
Ferrystones can't be forged, and new ones will always need to be obtained to fast travel properly.

How To Use Ferrystones in DD2
Ferrystones are consumable items that can only be used outside, and they will instantly teleport the player to any Portcrystal on the map. The overall use of Ferrystones is limited to the number of Portcrystals players have, as the game only naturally has a limited number. Portable Portcrystals are a very rare item obtained in the game that can be placed wherever the player wants, with a maximum of 10 being placed throughout the world. Getting and spacing out Portcrystals in places like Bakbattahl will let players use Ferrystones to get anywhere efficiently, avoiding any potential raids on an Oxcart.
