Unlike the majority of modern RPGs, Dragon's Dogma 2 trusts players to make nearly all of their own discoveries. Whether it be the smallest side quest, or a chapter of critical importance, the game rarely holds players' hands. There are several key interactions in Dragon's Dogma 2 that provide the player with a name, a location, or some kind of basic information, and then leaves them to their own devices. While this is not always the case, it happens enough to be seen as a clear design choice on the part of Capcom.
Locating Sven's chambers in 'A Veil of Gossamer Clouds' is a prime example of this quest mechanic. At the point players receive this quest, they will most likely have no idea where Sven's chamabers are. Yet, not only does the game not provide any quest marker to follow, it does not even recognize the quest as started until the player finds Sven. This guide will lead players directly to Sven's chambers, and explain how to complete 'A Veil of Gossamer Clouds'.
Dragon's Dogma 2: How To Get Pawns
The unique Pawn system returns in Dragon's Dogma 2, and there are several ways to hire new Pawns to your party soon after starting the game.
How to Start A Veil of Gossamer Clouds in Dragon's Dogma 2
'A Veil of Gossamer Clouds' does not start like most quests in Dragon's Dogma 2. Instead, players will be sought out by a messenger once the coronation of the false Sovran has been completed. This will occur at the end of Captain Brant's series of quests in Vernworth.
The messenger will approach the Arisen without warning, and tell them that Sven wishes to see them in his chambers. It does not provide any type of quest marker in the castle, or any other way to know where Sven's chambers are located.
Where Are Sven's Chambers in Dragon's Dogma 2?
To find Sven's chambers, players must head into the palace. If players head there during the day, there should be no need to conceal your identity, or wear special armor or outfits. At night, the palace seems to be a much less safe environment. Sven's chambers are located on the second floor of the main palace grounds. As long as players enter the palace during the day, they can enter the audience chamber and use the spiral staircase to reach the second floor. Sven's chambers can be found in the northwestern corner.
How to Investigate the Unfinished Letter from Sven
Once Sven gives the player the
Unfinished Letter he discovered, it will be up to the player to investigate. While the mission will ultimately take the Arisen to Battahl, the first stop that should be made is in Vernworth. Follow these steps to investigate the letter:
- First, visit Magistrate Waldhar in the archives near The Gracious Hand. This area was unlocked during 'The Heel of History' and 'The Caged Magistrate.' The Magistrate will give the player insight into what the letter actually is: a love letter.
- The second step will be in Battahl. Players will need to enter the lower level of the Forbidden Magick Research Lab and locate a recently delivered letter. The letter will be in Laboratorium – Workshop #2. A brief cutscene will play when you are outside the correct room.
-
With the second letter in your possession, return to Sven to complete the mission. He will reward the player with 20,000 gold and a
Ferrystone.
