Mages are portrayed mostly as a Supportive Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. This is because this class has a wide range of choices when it comes to the Skills they can equip for combat. Mages can shield, heal, increase damage, and deal damage themselves, if they have to. They can even light up the field at night to allow their team to see in darkness. Mages are, without a doubt, a must-have in every team because of how versatile they can be in many scenarios.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Best Weapons For Archers (& Where To Find Them)
Archers are all about dealing damage, so finding the best bow is essential for their offensive playstyle in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
That being said, when it comes to building a Mage in Dragon’s Dogma 2, getting them a good Staff is the first step in the right direction.

Surprisingly, Dragon's Nous and Necrotic Shriek are post-endgame Mage weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2, yet, they’re not the best pieces of equipment. In Mages' case, Legion's Might is harder to get since you need to collect tons of Seeker Tokens for it. While Necrotic Shriek is completely under Legion's Might in performance, it has an interesting feature where the caster has a chance to silence their target during combat. To get Necrotic Shriek, you can buy it from almost any Merchant post-endgame for 58000 Gold, and it can be sold for 19340.
On the other hand, Dragon's Nous can’t be bought with Gold. Instead, you have to visit The Dragonforged in Bay Wayside Shrine and buy Dragon's Nous for 110 Wyrmslife Crystals. The weapon has the highest Magick stat among Mage Staves but falls short when it comes to Knockdown Power against Legion's Might.

One strong early-game Mage Staff is the Cardinal Blaze in Dragon’s Dogma 2. You can buy it from Grisha’s Armory in Sacred Arbor in the northern part of Vermund. It costs 27800 Gold and can be sold for 9270 Gold. Cardinal Blaze is not that cheap for an early-game weapon, but it’s worth it and can carry the Mage wielding it to the endgame with ease.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Best Weapons For Thieves (& Where To Find Them)
Thieves may excel in performing fancy trickery and delivering swift blows, but they still need proper weapons to defeat bosses in Dragon's Dogma 2.
Cardinal Blaze is perfect for Mages who want to deal fire damage, since it can amplify that element. If you give Cardinal Blaze to your main Pawn, make sure to give them as many fire attacks as possible.

Solar Numen is a strong midgame to endgame Staff for Mages in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It can be found with Awaran from Awaran’s Arms in Bakbattahl. He sells Solar Numen for 36800 Gold and you can sell it back to him or any other Merchant for 12270 Gold.
The Staff offers a decent amount of stats that are mediocre and can carry you or your main Pawns as Mages. Of course, it’s better to have your main Pawn be the Mage, since they focus more on being a Support unit by healing, shielding, and infusing their allies’ weapons with elemental damage. Unless, of course, you prefer to play as a Support.
2 Volant White

Volant White is a great Mage Staff in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It infuses Mages' attacks with Holy damage and has decent magick and Knockdown Power for a mage. After getting Volant White, it’s ok to stick with it and change it for the endgame Staves since it’s already good enough to carry your Mage’s damage and healing.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Grand Riftstone Of Vermund’s Secret Treasure (Silver Rapier, Savant's Boots, And Ferrystone)
Dragon's Dogma 2 players can find Silver Rapier early in the game by discovering a secret treasure in the vicinity of Grand Riftstone of Vermund.
Multiple Merchants sell Volant White in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Even if it’s far away from the two Capital cities, Beatrice from Volcanic Island Armory is the easiest to find and buy Volant White from, since it doesn’t require any quest to reach her. As for the other two Vendors who sell Volant White, you need to start the Dulled Steel, Cold Forge quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and finish the Put a Spring in Thy Step quest to unlock both Sara and Gautstafr as Merchants, respectively.

Unexpectedly, Legion's Might is obtainable pre-endgame and arguably the best weapon for Mages in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Even post-endgame weapons don’t beat this Staff, making it unique. Of course, it’s one of the hardest weapons to get, since the only way to get the Legion's Might is by collecting a whopping 180 Seeker Tokens in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
The Staff has one of the highest Magick stats alongside 134 Knockdown Power, higher than all other Staves in the game. Legion's Might is an amazing weapon for Mages that can carry them from the moment they get it to the endgame, to NG+, and beyond.
