The quest "Feast of Deception" is the last of the Dragon's Dogma 2 main quests that take place in Vernworth, at least before you travel south to Battahl. The feast is a turning point in the life of the Arisen, though there's still plenty of game left to play.
"Feast of Deception" begins when Brant tells you that the coronation is about to begin. You need to find some "raiment befitting of the occasion," however, and unlike in the quest "The Stolen Throne," this outfit is no longer optional. So where in Dragon's Dogma 2 can you find the right clothing?
Dragon's Dogma 2: How To Romance Wilhelmina (Every Rose Has Its Thorn Guide)
Players looking to romance the Wilhelmina, the Proprietress of the Rose Chateau Bordelrie in DD2, will need to help her fulfill her destiny.
Where to Find Formal Raiment
The two outfit pieces you need are the Courtly Breeches and the Courtly Tunic. There are four places you can find them:
- Help the boy Sven out in the Merchant Quarter by completing the Dragon's Dogma 2 quest "The Ornate Box." You'll need to return to the fountain in the square on several different days to do so. Your rewards for completing the quest include 900 XP, 4,000 gold, and the Courtly outfit.
- Head to Philbert's Sundries in the Merchant Quarter. He sells the Tunic for 155,000 gold and the Breeches for 150,000 gold. This is a staggering amount of money even by Dragon's Dogma 2 standards, so avoid buying it unless you're out of other options.
- Check the chests in the back rooms of Vernworth Hall. This is the building where the masquerade takes place. One of them contains the Courtly outfit.
- Open a chest in Sven's chamber. His room is in the northwest corner of the second floor, and the chest with the Courtly outfit is in an alcove straight ahead from the door.
Once you have the
Courtly Tunic and
Courtly Breeches, equip them on the Arisen and speak to Brant again. He'll warn you to make sure you've completed all the quests you can in town, because some of them may end or become unavailable after you finish "Feast of Deception."
The Rest of the Quest
You never get a chance to witness or interrupt the coronation, because your main Pawn will stagger under the weight of a magic compulsion as you approach the castle gate. This worries Brant enough to call a retreat, though Sven is able to witness the event from a distance.
Back at the tavern, Brant decides to send the Arisen south into Battahl, and he gives you a permit that will let you through the gate (though that isn't the only way you can cross the checkpoint). The main quest continues after this point, but "Feast of Deception" ends here.
