Moving through the world of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined can be a bit tricky, more so for newcomers to the franchise, since they might not know how Fast Travel works in the series. To make things even more problematic, the Fast Travel Menu is not particularly easy to find, and the game doesn't explain all too well how to use the Zoom power.

This guide will teach players how to make use of the Fast Travel feature in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, as well as provide information on how to access the world map and use teleporters in the

How to Save in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined

There are two simple ways to make a manual save in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, and this guide explains how to pursue both of them.

How To Use Fast Travel & Access World Map in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined

To fast travel in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, players need to open up the World Map and use the Zoom power from the Main Character. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use Zoom to Fast Travel:

  1. Open the World Map using X (PC), X (Switch/Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S).
  2. Navigate through already discovered areas using WASD (PC) or left stick (consoles).
  3. Now, select a location, then 'Zoom' (Spacebar on PC, A (Xbox, Switch/Switch 2), and Triangle (PS5).

There will be a cutscene, and the Main Character and his party will teleport to the designated location.

Remember: Players can only use Zoom (Fast Travel) on locations that have already been discovered (either in the past or the present). Otherwise, Zoom won't be available when players hover over the Islands or zones that haven't been visited yet (greyed out).

It is important to mention that certain areas of the game might become available (greyed out) for fast travel during important events on the Story. To avoid spoilers, we will leave it at that. So, if you cannot fast travel, it might be due to one of two reasons: There's a Main Quest event in the player's proximity that cannot be eluded, or they haven't explored that area yet.

On that note, players need to know that the areas accessed through the Shrine of Mysteries (let's call them The Past) and the Islands that pop up in the overworld map after they finish a Main Story event in those islands (or liberate them) are considered different Fast Travel Points. Players need to re-explore the Present Time Islands to make them available for Fast Travel.

Since Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined follows a similar logic to that of Chrono Cross, those who have played this series or its recent remake might be more familiar with this type of 'two-timeline' gimmick.
