Where To Get The Cloak Of Evasion Early In Dragon Quest 3 Remake

While it is possible to get the Cloak of Evasion through other methods later in the game, players can get it as early as when they reach Romaria. In Romaria, head into the items store to the left of the main gate, and head down the stairs along the bottom edge of the shop to enter the Monster Arena. The Cloak Of Evasion is one of the rewards for clearing Rank 2.

This will require players to go find at least three monsters to use in the Arena. You'll need to complete Rank 1 before you can challenge Rank 2, though both are fairly easy and can be done even with some of the more basic monsters. Completing Rank 2 will also give you:

  • 3 Seeds of Strength
  • 3 Seeds of Stamina.

How To Best Use The Cloak Of Evasion In Dragon Quest 3 Remake

The Cloak of Evasion is a piece of armor that is best used when your party is also in a proper Line-Up with your weaker spell-casters towards the back. Spell-Casters usually can't wear heavy armor to make up for their low HP, so having gear that focuses on dodging is a great choice, and useful for keeping them alive longer when the enemy is using a lot of party-wide attacks.

Another useful option is equipping the Cloak Of Evasion on whoever is your leader since they will get targeted by the most single-target attacks. While the defense stat is fairly low, there's a chance more attacks will get dodged and be more helpful in that party member's goal of distracting enemies. Even when you've gotten farther into the game and are searching for the orbs, this item is well worth the fairly minimal effort to get, and will still be useful even at that point in the game.
