As players venture forth into Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D Remake's realm of Alefgard, whether it's as a new player, or a long-time fan in need of a quick brush-up, there will likely be many questions they'll want answered quite early in the journey. Between the ambiguous nature of many quests, or the wide range of collectibles the heroes will encounter, it can be hard to keep track of where to go or what to do next. This is especially true with two of DQ2's most important collectibles: Mini-Medals and Tombola Tickets. Both items provide the player with an opportunity to earn powerful rewards, but it can be a bit confusing when you have no idea what to do with them. In this guide, we'll provide a full accounting of what to do with Mini-Medals and Tombola Tickets in Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D Remake.

What to Do with Mini-Medals in Dragon Quest 2 Remake

Mini-Medal Island:

DQ2-Min-Medal-Island-Collage

While you'll start collecting Mini-Medals early in DQ2 Remake, you'll have to meet one major milestone in the main story before you can find the location where you'll turn in Mini-Medals. Those players who were introduced to the franchise through the DQ3 remake, will likely expect the location to be accessible from the start, but this is unfortunately not the case.

DQ2-MM-Island-World

To start earning rewards for your Mini-Medals, you'll first need to acquire the Ship. This will occur during the course of the main story. It is impossible to miss, so the goal should be to keep moving forward until you reach Rippleport.

Once you have the Ship, you'll be able to make your way to the desired destination right away. The name of your desired destination is the Isle of the Monarch of Medals. You can find it just off the west coast of the central continent, very close to the Dragon's Horns.

DQ2-MM-Island-Maharaja

Once you reach the island, enter the castle, and head all the way to the man sitting on the throne. Speak to him, and he will automatically take the medals you are carrying.

What to Do With Tombola Tickets in Dragon Quest II Remake

Dq2-Tombola-Stall

Just One More Spin...

Players who were first introduced to the Dragon Quest franchise through the DQIII remake will likely have no idea what a Tombola Ticket is. This was our experience, and is likely to be the same for many others. With that in mind, we'll explain exactly how to use Tombola Tickets below.

As you explore Alefgard, you'll start to find Tombola Tickets in a wide variety of locations. You can find them in all the same locations that you'd find Mini Medals, and you will also acquire them when you spend enough gold or sell enough items. You will amass a significant number of tickets during your playthrough, and this is good, because you are going to need them if you want to earn the best prizes.

Tombola Tickets are essentially raffle tickets, which allow you to play at Tombola games throughout Alefgard. As you progress through the game, you'll discover and unlock access to several Tombola tables. You can win several items that make combat significantly easier early in the game. Winning the best prizes, however, can require a significant time investment.

Each Tombola table offers a list of five prizes, starting with the 4th Class and working up to the Ultimate Prize. Some tables require only one ticket to spin, others require two or three. Below, we will list all available Tombola locations, and the complete list of prizes you can win.
