Dragon Ball is a legendary series that has shaped the anime genre and paved the way for every series that came after it. Created by the late, great Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball is a magical story that follows the action-packed adventures of Goku and his friends. From fascist regimes to intergalactic gods, Dragon Ball has delivered timeless journeys across the stars and provided endless entertainment for nearly forty years.

Dragon Ball is home to a unique cast of interesting characters, but the only one to reach the same level as Goku is Vegeta. The Prince of all Saiyans, a villain turned ally, has risen to astounding praise and become one of the series' most beloved characters, overshadowing Goku to some fans. Vegeta's history in Dragon Ball is rich, with his character development and feats of power being some of the best in the show. Here are some of Vegeta's most OP moments in the anime.

Vegeta Training Over 300 Times Earth's Gravity

Enduring Unimaginable Pain To Push His Body To The Limit

While the argument about who is stronger or better between Goku and Vegeta remains a prominent topic in the Dragon Ball fandom, there is an aspect in which Vegeta excels, and that's in who trains harder. While Goku focuses on efficiently increasing his skill and power, Vegeta throws caution to the wind and puts his body on the line in an effort to surpass his limits.

This was demonstrated in Dragon Ball Z during the Android Saga, where he began training under increased gravity, starting at one hundred times Earth's gravity and increasing it to over three hundred times. This pressure should have been enough to grind Vegeta's bones to dust, but he persevered and increased his durability tenfold.

Nearly Destroying Perfect Cell In A Single Blast

A Hail Mary Shot That Almost Paid Off

Cell is one of the most fearsome villains in Dragon Ball history, who nearly wiped out the entire planet, with the Z Fighters powerless to stop him. While it fell to Gohan to finally defeat the perfect android, Cell's end nearly came early at the hands of Vegeta in the Cell Saga in an emotionally charged battle.

After allowing Cell to reach his perfect form, Vegeta resorted to testing the creature's pride. Bating Cell into standing still, he fired off a full-powered Final Flash that could have destroyed the entire planet. Completely caught off guard by Vegeta's recklessness, Cell was severely injured by the blast, losing half of his upper torso. Had it not been for Piccolo's regenerative abilities, the android would have been turned to dust.

Resisting Babdi's Control After Submitting To His Power

Proving He Is The Prince Of All Saiyans

In the early episodes of the Buu Saga, the Z fighters were attending the world's martial arts tournament. As the action steadily ramped up, things took a dark turn, and Vegeta was enthralled by the Dark Wizard Babadi's power, transforming him into Majin Vegeta. Relishing in his old ways, Vegeta seized the moment to finally settle his rivalry with Goku in a final fight at their best.

Babadi ordered Vegeta to slaughter the Kai instead, but Vegeta's pride outweighed the magical mind control of Babadi, and Vegeta rejected his order, using sheer force of will to sever the connection while retaining his added power.

Destroying Android 19

Reaching The Level Of Super Saiyan

At the beginning of the Android Saga, after the intensive training that the Z fighters had undergone, the day had finally come to meet the mythic androids on the battlefield. Androids 19 and 20 appeared with cold demeanors and Ki-absorbing attacks that put Goku on his knees as he quickly fell ill due to his heart condition.

Vegeta appeared out of nowhere, seemingly with a secret: he had become a Super Saiyan. In a chilling display, Vegeta completely overwhelmed Android 19 and obliterated its body, where nothing remained but a pair of hands.

Unleashing His Rage On Majin Buu

Proving It's Better To Burn Out Than To Fade Away

The Buu Saga, regarded as one of the best arcs, was a wild ride of action and drama that may be one of the most brutal fights Goku and his friends have ever had. With multiple twists and turns, Buu eventually came to be in the modern-day world. After a grueling grudge match with Goku, Vegeta found himself the first man in line to take on the jolly monster and was gravely outmatched.

Seeing the world clearly, Vegeta steadied himself and prepared for the worst. In an explosive wave of fury, Vegeta made a glorious attempt to save the world and paid the ultimate sacrifice, although in vain. This display of Vegeta's power remains a defining moment for Vegeta's character and an incredible showcase of the immense power the Prince of all Saiyans possesses.

Vegeta Manhandles Golden Frieza

Revealing He Has Obtained The Powers Of A God

In the animated film Dragon Ball Super: Resurrection' F, Frieza returned with more power than ever before. For the first time in the series, the responsibility to save the day fell onto Vegeta's soldiers, and he arrived just in time to pull Goku out of the fire and step up against the being that destroyed his entire world.

However, Vegeta did not falter and came thoroughly prepared to outclass the destroyer of worlds. Vegeta reveals that he has obtained the form of Super Saiyan and beyond, unleashing Super Saiyan Blue and the power of a god onto Frieza. Making Frieza look considerably weaker than his former subordinate.

Unlocking Blue Evolved Mid-Fight

Evolving In His Fight Against The Imposing Jiren

The Tournament of Power was a shocking and high-octane arc in Dragon Ball history that revitalized the fan base and rocked the anime community with Goku and Vegeta taking on the most powerful beings across multiple universes.

As the final moments of the tournament neared, Vegeta found himself facing off against Jiren alongside Goku. Knowing he needed more power, Vegeta made the decision to break through his limits once and for all and unlocked a new transformation, Super Saiyan Blue Evolved. This display of power shocked the entire stadium and posed a small challenge to Jiren, who had dominated the battlefield throughout the tournament.

Taking on Lord Berus For Bulma

Breaking Down Barriers Between Gods And Men

The Dragon Ball Super anime also covered the Super Saiyan God saga, where Berus, the god of destruction, appeared and became a complex addition to the cast of the Dragon Ball universe. During some downtime from the action, Bulma and Berus found themselves at odds, and rising tensions caused Berus to lay hands on Vegeta's loving wife.

Vegeta flew into a rage, disregarding the lord of destruction before him, and saw only the despicable fiend that had injured the person he loved. While Vegeta's rage was enough to force Berus into action, he did so without the need for Super Saiyan God or Super Saiyan Blue.
