There are a lot of different Skills for Survivors to use in Dragon Ball: The Breakers, both the Active and Passive varieties. These Skills are what give the Survivors the tools they need to survive and possibly even beat a foe infinitely stronger than themselves, AKA the Raider.

RELATED: The Most Iconic Anime Transformation Sequences And, once a player upgrades a Skill to at least +10 using the Training Room and the Super Warrior Spirits currency, they can then equip that Skill without the associated Transphere or Character Skin equipped. So, let's take a look at some of the best Skills in Dragon Ball: The Breakers so that players can figure out which ones they want to start upgrading first.

10 Passive Skill: S.O.S

Dragon Ball The Breakers - Using Time Machine To Escape From Raider

First up is a Passive Skill that comes from Trunks' Transphere called S.O.S. Essentially, once the Raider destroys the Super Time Machine (or there are only a few Survivors left), there are beacons that spawn at certain points around each map. If the surviving players interact with these Beacons, they can summon a regular Time Machine (the one Bulma built that Trunks typically uses in DBZ) to escape from the Raider instead of beating them. Be careful, though, because if the Raider isn't a beginner, they can easily just shoot down the Time Machine and eliminate any possibility of escaping.

In any case, with this Skill, the time that it takes to call this Time Machine is reduced by over 50 percent with just a few upgrades. Still, it's not a Skill that's used often compared to many others, so it's at the bottom of these rankings.

9 Active Skill: Saiyan Escape Pod

Dragon Ball The Breakers - Oolong Climbing Into Saiyan Escape Pod To Evade Raider

Next up is the Saiyan Escape Pod, the first Active Skill on here and one that is gained from Vegeta's Transphere. It's gone through some changes since the multiple-game betas, but the Skill is still well worth using.

With it, players have a "get out of jail free" card they can use in a pinch to send themselves across the map and away from the Raider, which can be especially useful against the slowest Raider, Buu. Of course, this does require a couple of seconds to summon, and the Raider can see the explosion from when the Pod lands either time, so there are pros and cons.

8 Passive Skill: Floating Device

Dragon Ball The Breakers - Survivor Using Hovering Device To Escape Zone Destruction

The Floating Device is probably the most "slept on" Passive Skill on here, as there aren't nearly enough players using it.

RELATED: Dragon Ball Z: Story Inconsistencies Created By Filler For one, it's one of the Skills that can be purchased for 8,000 Zeni in the shop, meaning there's no "luck" element to getting it from a specific Transphere. Two, it lets players extend the distance covered in a jump or fall by a great deal. And three, it actually works wonders for canceling the landing lag that players will have whenever they hit the ground from high up.

7 Passive Skill: Expert Driver (Speed Boost)

Dragon Ball The Breakers - Survivor Speeding Along Thanks To Expert Driver Skill

The next Skill on here really only makes sense with used in combination with a certain Active Skill, but even when it isn't, it still has its uses.

The Expert Driver (Speed Boost) Skill gained from Krillin Transpheres is the perfect Skill to use in combination with the Single-Wheel Motorbike Active Skill. Basically, the Skill substantially boosts driving speed with any vehicle once upgraded enough, and it can make it so that the Raider can't ever catch up to Bulma's Bike or even hit it with Ki Blasts.

6 Passive Skill: VIP Special

Finally, Yamcha gets some time to shine. This Skill, gained from the Yamcha Transphere, is a pretty simple one. All it does is reduce the cost of all Vending Machines for the player with this Skill equipped.

That means all Change Power Machines now cost 1000 Zeni instead of 2000, Cooldown Drinks are 2000 instead of 4000, and Rocket Launchers are a measly 500 Zeni instead of 1000. It might not sound like much, but considering how massively important Cooldown Drinks are, it actually makes a pretty large impact.

5 Active Skill: Krillin's Shoe

Dragon Ball The Breakers - Bulma Throwing Krillins Shoe In Training Mode

Now onto likely the funniest inclusion on here, the Active Skill called Krillin's Shoe. And, of course, this is a Skill gained from Krillin Transpheres. This is another one of those "stun the Raider" Skills that players will want to run in order to have a chance of escaping when they're caught. Basically, the player launches a shoe in a straight line when this is used, and if it hits the Raider, they're stunned by the awful smell coming off of it.

Because it's a Stun Skill that can be used at range, unlike Solar Flare, Trap Device, Stunning Pose, or even Yamcha's iconic Fake Death homage Skill, Krillin's Shoe finds a lot of use. Of course, since it travels in a straight line, players will need to wait for the perfect moment to use it.

4 Passive Skill: Barrier Auto Recovery

Dragon Ball The Breakers - Survivor Looking Scared To Use Barrier Recovery Device

Let's be honest , the combat in Dragon Ball: The Breakers is not the main selling point of the game. The way that the homing works, the attacks connect, or even the lack of any invincibility frames whatsoever makes it so that a lot of run-ins with the Raider feel like a dice roll. That said, the fact that Survivors can take two hits before being downed is huge.

RELATED: The Most Iconic Sages In Anime Most of the time, when the Survivor takes a hit and gets away, they'll then waste a bunch of time looking for a Barrier Recovery Device. But, with this Skill (gained from the one and only Demon King Piccolo) players can entirely focus on the objectives even after their Barrier is down, and it'll just recover itself after a while.

3 Active Skill: Charming Pose & Trap Device

Dragon Ball The Breakers - Bulmba Using Charming Pose To Distract And Stun Raider

These two Active Skills are combined into one entry simply because they serve mostly the same purpose. Both Skills are meant for stunning the Raider when they get too close so that the Survivor might have a chance of making it out alive. And, for people wondering why Solar Flare isn't included here, too, it's simply because Solar Flare has too much of a start-up, and Survivors can be knocked out of the animation with the Skill still going on Cooldown.

In any case, either Charming Pose (Bulma's Skill) or Trap Device (bought from the Store) are both absolutely worth an Active Skill slot.

2 Active Skill: Capsule (Single-Wheel Motorbike)

Dragon Ball The Breakers - Bulma Using Capsule Motorbike To Outrun Raider

This next Active Skill, by far, is the one players should focus on getting to at least +10 first since it's locked to the Bulma skin. Once they do, they'll immediately see why it was worth the investment.

The Single-Wheel Motorbike might look similar to the other hover bikes spread around the maps, but it has one key difference, a boost function. By holding the Dodge input while riding it, players use an infinite boost that can quite literally outpace the Raider's speed, even before using it with the Expert Driver (Speed Boost) Skill.

1 Active Skill: Grapple

Dragon Ball The Breakers - Bulma Survivor Using Grapple To Get To Highest Point In Map

Funnily enough, the best Skill of them all is one that all players start out with in Dragon Ball: The Breakers. The Grapple is set to their first Active Skill slot by default when they start the game, and most players don't ever move it from that spot. There are plenty of reasons for this of course, such as:

  • The Grapple has an absurd range.
  • Its reel-in speed is virtually instant, making it look like the Survivor just "vanished" to a Raider about to KO them.
  • It's perfect for getting across the map or climbing the high points of the map in an instant.
  • Players can even use it while transformed to escape the Raider before their Change meter runs out completely.
  • And, if they happen to have all seven Dragon Balls, they can use them to pull themselves right to a nearby Altar and summon the iconic Shenron for a game-changing wish.

The Grapple is just the best tool in the game and it makes it so that it feels like there's only ever been three potential Active Skill spots instead of four because it's never getting unequipped.
