Dragon Ball Super has been all the talk recently, thanks to major reveals by Toei Animation on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the series. Toei Animation officially announced that Dragon Ball would be making a major comeback in 2026 and that a new adaptation would follow after. Dragon Ball is getting a remastered series known as Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, which will eventually be followed by a new anime arc, called Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, adapting the events that follow the Tournament of Power arc. More information on the Dragon Ball events is highly anticipated, especially with a major anime event called Anime Japan 2026 approaching. Sadly, it's highly unlikely that Dragon Ball Super will have any major reveal during this event.
Dragon Ball Super Will Not Have A Dedicated Stage At Anime Japan 2026
Dragon Ball Super fans are extremely excited for the return of the anime ever since Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri took place. In recent years, this was easily the biggest Dragon Ball event that fans got to witness as it finally went on to confirm the much-anticipated return of the Dragon Ball Super anime. That said, apart from the return announcement, not much else was revealed at the event. Fans of Dragon Ball were anticipating bigger reveals for their favorite anime series in the upcoming month since Anime Japan 2026 is fast approaching. However, during Anime Japan 2026, Dragon Ball will not have its own stage, unlike other series like One Piece, Demon Slayer, and Jujutsu Kaisen.
Instead, Dragon Ball Super will only be added through the Toei Animation stage, which means that it will likely only get a repeat of promotional content that has already been revealed, such as the key visuals and first teasers. Given the fact that there is no dedicated stage for the series, expectations should be kept very low. It is highly unlikely that there will be a big reveal, such as a trailer, to be made. Even revealing the release date is unlikely to happen at Anime Japan 2026.
When Will Dragon Ball Get More Information About The Anime Comeback?
The future is incredibly bright for the Dragon Ball series, given all the announcements that were made recently. The series faced many legal issues following the death of its creator Akira Toriyama in 2024, and now, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. Evidently, the Dragon Ball series is finally being revived, but fans will have to be patient as far as more information reveals are concerned. Anime Japan 2026 is not going to give the exciting reveals that everyone is craving. At the moment, there is no information about future events that Dragon Ball will partake in. Dragon Ball had a major event only recently, where big reveals were made, so it is too early for any new information to be divulged anytime soon.
For now, fans will have to wait until Dragon Ball Super: Beerus approaches. In time, Toei Animation will definitely release new information concerning this anime comeback. As far as Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol goes, no new information on the anime should be expected this year. Fans might have to wait until next year for more information concerning this new arc adaptation.
