However, purchasing the Season Pass will bump this window up by several days. In fact, there are many fans who are playing Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero early already.
Developers used the promise of early access to help market Sparking Zero's Season Pass. For players that purchased it, the game was made available to play on October 7. Dragon Ball fans that skipped Sparking Zero's early access window don't have to worry about missing out, as the Season Pass has many more rewards to follow.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Season Pass Features Dozens of DLC Characters
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has yet to reveal exact details about each character that will be released as DLC. However, developers have announced details that are more than a little ambitious. Bandai Namco's official website for Sparking Zero states that the Season Pass "contains more than 20 characters", with such a sizable number seeming like the cherry on top of an already-huge roster.
Although these 20 characters will likely be gradually revealed over time, Bandai Namco's website does clarify the focus of the Season Pass. Apparently, this wave of DLC will feature characters from Dragon Ball Super Hero and Dragon Ball Daima. Considering there is no mention of another corner of the franchise, it's safe to assume these two projects will get the most shine for the time being.
This also makes it worth remembering that alternate forms are considered distinct characters as far as Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is concerned. With that in mind, fans should keep their expectations in check. The game has already revealed Dragon Ball Daima's version of Goku as a pre-order bonus, with characters like Vegeta seeming likely to follow. Dragon Ball Super Hero is even more obvious, with its presence in DLC almost certainly guaranteeing new forms for Gohan and Piccolo.
Other Rewards to Gain From Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's Season Pass
Despite other characters remaining in the dark, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's DLC plans have at least unveiled the first two additions. They are Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, proving the movie's influence on Sparking Zero. Furthermore, the Season Pass currently promises early access to these DLC characters, and others to come in the future.
Even after the solid expansion of the game's roster, there are still more benefits to gain from Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's Season Pass. One notable inclusion is the Shenron Summon feature, which will reportedly let players unlock certain items. Other editions of the game let players summon Super Shenron, which apparently gives players the chance to unlock both characters and items.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is exactly as massive as fans of the Budokai Tenkaichi series could have hoped. The Season Pass sets out to expand the game's scope even further and seems to provide enough value for its price tag. Fans should still remain cautious of the details that have yet to be revealed, but Sparking Zero's track record has laid solid groundwork for its future.
