The Granolah arc of Dragon Ball Super ended on a rather interesting note, showing the series' most iconic villain, Frieza, make an explosive return to the main timeline sporting a brand-new form that put Goku and Vegeta's Divine Transformations to shame with just a single hit. This showed how huge the gap between them had gotten.

Because of the incredible debut of the Black Frieza form, the power hierarchy of the Dragon Ball franchise has changed dramatically. With even their most powerful forms, Goku and Vegeta were little more than a joke to the Galactic Tyrant, showing that there is only one Saiyan who can possibly even challenge this universal threat, so let's take a look at who this could be.

Dragon Ball: Why A Second Tournament Of Power Would Be The Easiest Battle For The Z- Fighters

The Tournament of Power was the greatest test for the heroes, but here's why a second one would be far too easy for them!

The Main Roster Of Universe 7 Can't Compete With Frieza

No One Is Safe

  • None of the heroes are strong enough to take on Black Frieza.

In the Tournament of Power, Goku had opened the door to what fans eventually came to call 'Divine' Transformations, which was essentially a form used to house the power of the Angels with Ultra Instinct or the power of the Gods with Ultra Ego. So far, these powers have been realized by Goku and Vegeta respectively.

This new direction in the series plays on a character's individual strengths rather than giving everyone the same form, which is a trend that has spread to the other main heroes of Universe 7, namely Gohan with Beast, Broly with his Full Powered Super Saiyan, and Piccolo with his Orange form. Through these new states, the five main heroes of Dragon Ball Super are stronger than they have ever been before and currently exist within the same tier of power within the multiverse.

Kakarot can have his thoughtless Ultra Instinct. I'll defeat you in my own way!

However, despite this incredible growth in strength, the heroes are nowhere close to the level of Black Frieza. As stated earlier, Frieza was able to take down Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta in just a single hit, showing just how much he has eclipsed his rivals during his time away.

Frieza had always been the one with the greatest potential in the franchise, so he found a Hyperbolic Time Chamber on a random planet and managed to get in 10 years worth of training to unlock and perfect his Black form, which then allowed him to shoot past even the most powerful of the Z-Fighters. This makes him the single most powerful mortal in the entire franchise.

Gogeta Is The Only One Who Stands A Chance Against Black Frieza

With everything taken into consideration, the possibility of any of the heroes defeating Black Frieza by themselves currently remains next to impossible. No matter how much Goku perfects Ultra Instinct or how much Gohan or Broly's potential peaks through, Black Frieza's only showing against Goku and Vegeta still places him far above anyone else.

Due to this, Gogeta may be the only character who can possibly take down the Galactic Tyrant. Although the Metamoran Fusion was always believed to be inferior to the Potara Fusion due to its lack of a Rival Boost, Gogeta's debut in Dragon Ball Super changed that, since he stated that Goku and Vegeta's strengths aren't just added together, but they are significantly multiplied after the fact, which effectively acts the same way as the Rival Boost.

Our two strengths aren't just added together, they're significantly magnified!

In the current state of the story, Goku and Vegeta are clearly far stronger than they have ever been before, which is typically how Dragon Ball operates. With the realization of their respective Divine Transformations, Goku has mastered the multiverse's greatest defense with Ultra Instinct and Vegeta has mastered the multiverse's greatest offense with Ultra Ego.

This very clearly shows that, through their union, they can birth the single most powerful mortal in the entire multiverse. Most believe that Black Frieza is currently on the tier of the Gods of Destruction, and through this perfected, 'Ultimate' Gogeta, Goku and Vegeta can close the power gap very quickly against the Frost Demon to get to the same level. In fact, this may be the only way for them to do so.

At this point, many fans are probably wondering why Gogeta is the one who is up to the challenge and not Vegito. The answer here lies in the fact that both fusions are confirmed to be equally powerful in every regard, differing only in terms of personality. With this in mind, the only thing left to account for is the stability of the fusion.

When Vegito was brought forth against Merged Zamasu, the fusion lasted a total of only 15 minutes and broke off prematurely due to the strain put on the Potara Earrings by the Super Saiyan Blue form, so a fusion with the Divine Techniques would break off almost immediately. On the other hand, the Metamoran Fusion lasts for 30 minutes regardless of the power output, making Gogeta the perfect warrior to challenge the incredible might of Black Frieza.
