Very little is known about Dragon Ball: Age 1000 so far, but the title heavily implies that the game will be set far in the future of Dragon Ball's timeline. Hardcore Dragon Ball fans know that years in the series are referred to as ages. The original Dragon Ball begins in Age 749, while the Peaceful World Saga in Dragon Ball Z ends in Age 784.

The trailer for Dragon Ball: Age 1000 also seems to imply that the silver haired main character is a descendant of Goku, signified by the fact the unnamed hero can turn Super Saiyan, and Goku's silhouette briefly appears over the protagonist during the teaser. No gameplay has been shown, nor any specific story details, but more information will be revealed at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 later this year.
Dragon Ball: Age 1000 is an Original Story by Akira Toriyama Set 216 Years After The End of Z
Dragon Ball Genkidama Matsuri that Akira Toriyama worked on Dragon Ball: Age 1000. The game's new main character was designed by Toriyama himself. Likewise, it's been suggested that Toriyama worked on the game's story himself. The last time a Dragon Ball game had a storyline heavily outlined by Akira Toriyama was Dragon Ball Online. This may not be a coincidence. Age 1000 is a significant year in Dragon Ball Online's timeline.
Future Trunks travels to the Year 1000 in Dragon Ball Online in order to recruit new members for the Time Patrol. Akira Toriyama famously outlined an entire epilogue to Dragon Ball Z leading up to Dragon Ball Online, and Age 1000 could very well be his attempt to re-canonizing details that were eventually overwritten due to Dragon Ball Super.

Dragon Ball Super is officially back with a brand new anime eight years later.
Given the title, Age 1000 could be a reboot of Akira Toriyama's DBO notes, a remake of Dragon Ball Online, or even Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Only time will tell – sadly, we don't have Future Trunks' time machine to skip to April and find out more.
