The release date for Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set for October 31, 2024, merely a few weeks before the tenth anniversary of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Whereas its predecessor attempted to ride a fine line between fast-paced and strategic combat, The Veilguard is fully embracing a Mass Effect approach to gameplay, and will feature a deep dive into high-level content on August 19th, 2024, alongside a showcase of how the game runs on the PC.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is Bringing Back Blood Dragon Armor
Blood Dragon Armor, a classic outfit from the earliest Dragon Age games, will be making its return in Dragon Age: The Veilguard this October.
In addition to posting the hardware requirements on the Electronic Arts page for The Veilguard, the exact specifications were also shared on Steam by BioWare, and they could certainly be considered generous by modern standards. While Frostbite is an extremely optimized engine, the stylized graphics of Dragon Age: The Veilguard also contribute to the lowered requirements on the PC. Players can pre-order the PC version of Dragon Age: The Veilguard for $59.99, which will come with the iconic Blood Dragon armor for all three classes.

The overall system requirements for Dragon Age: The Veilguard imply that players who had no issues running Baldur's Gate 3 will have no issues running the latest BioWare title as well. As opposed to Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Veilguard will not feature an open world, and will instead hearken back to a more beloved BioWare era of exploration and mission design. That being said, the game's detailed locations (such as Minrathous) will still require an SSD to run smoothly.
In a grand adventure that takes place across the lands of Northern Thedas, players will take up the mantle of Rook, an independent agent contacted by Varric and the Inquisition to help thwart Solas in his plot to tear down the veil. A ritual gone awry results in an ancient evil set loose upon the world, and in a typical BioWare fashion, Rook will need to unite six factions and seven companions in The Veilguard to save everything they hold dear.
