EA and BioWare have revealed some features for the PC version of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which should allow for smooth graphics and easy-to-use controls across a variety of computer builds. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is coming in just a few months, and its developer and publisher want to make sure it's just as enjoyable on PC as it is for console players.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set for release on October 31, with its PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S releases planned for simultaneous launch. The fourth main installment in the Dragon Age series will take players to the Tevinter Imperium, and it picks up where the story of Inquisition left off, with Solas still a potential threat to the peace of not just Ferelden and Orlais, but the entire world.
A new report from the official Dragon Age: The Veilguard website states that roughly 40 percent of playtesting has been completed using PCs, amounting to more than 200,000 hours of testing compatibility and performance on PC. Visually, the game will support a wide variety of resolutions, including those compatible with 21:9 ultra-widescreen monitors, and that resolution will be available for cinematics in addition to actual gameplay. While Dragon Age: The Veilguard's system requirements allow for play on older PCs, high-end PC users will get to enjoy the power of their machines, as the game will allow for an uncapped framerate and sliders to adjust the field of vision. The graphic settings will also allow for Ray Tracing, including an Ultra RT mode for particularly powerful PCs.

Additionally, the game has been verified for Steam Deck, for players who want a mobile Dragon Age experience, and players will be able to switch between PC and Steam Deck without losing any in-game progress.
The reveal of the PC features is just one of the surprises the developers have in store for the second half of the month. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is closing out August with a bang, with a Companion Week scheduled to kick off on August 26 and a Developer Discord Q&A planned for August 30.
