At the beginning of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players have the complete freedom to customize their own characters. You need to choose their Lineage, Playstyle, and Class to start your journey. Once everything is complete, players will get a notification that it’s possible to change their appearance later on in the game.

After completing a few missions and exploring the world a little, you will stumble upon a mirror that will help them customize Rook. The process is not difficult or time-consuming as you will get introduced to the feature quite early on in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. However, keep in mind that not everything can be changed even if you gain access to the Mirror of Transformation.

To change your appearance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you must interact with the Mirror of Transformation in the Lighthouse. Upon using it, you will be transported to an Appearance menu similar to the one at the beginning of the game.

To unlock the Mirror of Transformation, complete the first quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the End of the Beginning, where you must locate Solas and stop his ritual. Once the mission is over, Rook and companions are transported to the Lighthouse. After speaking with Varric, head to the corner of the room to find the Mirror of Transformation and interact with it to start changing Rook’s appearance.

Players can further customize their character, or choose a completely new preset to change appearance. There are a total of nine categories players can customize for their character:
