Dragon Age: The Veilguard has reignited the long-stagnant Dragon Age series, prompting many fans to return to Origins and play through the entire series to experience the world of Thedas once more. This series makes many changes to the established formula, but the lightweight inventory management that doesn't worry about carry weight is a blessing.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard - 8 Best Companion Combo Attacks
Companions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard can combine their skills to unleash devastating combo attacks. Here are the best ones to make use of.
Part of the luxury that comes with this type of inventory is that any armor that can be collected belongs to the player for good, without needing to worry about selling things off for space. This means players are free to constantly experiment with their armor and find out what suits their playstyle best. In particular, these armors are all great pieces of equipment to collect in the early game, each offering a unique augmentation of the Warrior class.
6 Explorer's Suit
Provides Vital Lightning Resistance In The Early Game
- Armor Class: Heavy
- Faction: Veil Jumpers
- Base Defense: 153
- Base Ability Damage: 32%
The many fade-touched creatures of Arlathan Forest have lightning powers that can make short work of fresh players, especially as this forest is one of the first areas players will explore. The Explorer's Suit provides resistance to lightning damage and immunity to its corresponding debuff, shocked.
This armor makes short work of the initial areas of Arlathan Forest, it's relatively inexpensive, and available shortly after the prologue at the Veil Jumpers faction shop. It's an altogether fantastic piece of armor that only grows stronger as it is upgraded.
5 Pursuant's Implements
A Lighter Armor That Augments Potions
- Armor Class: Medium
- Faction: Grey Wardens
- Base Defense: 136
- Base Ability Damage: 78%
In the Griffon Aerie section of the game, players can find a chest with the Pursuant's Implements inside. This armor set is lighter than most armor on this list, but as a medium armor, it pairs excellently with the Eclectic Armorer perk.
This armor set is built around bolstering potions, which can be great for a tankier warrior who needs to focus on survivability. Further along the upgrade path, this armor gives players a bonus to potion healing regardless of potion type, meaning grenade users also get a bonus to health as well.
4 Casings Of Fortune
Both Style And Function
- Armor Class: Heavy
- Faction: Lords of Fortune
- Base Defense: 168
- Base Ability Damage: 37%
Found in the Warden's Castle in the region of Rivain during Taash's recruitment quest, this armor is perfect for those who understand that the true endgame in The Veilguard is fashion. As a bonus, it also has an incredibly cohesive and beneficial set of bonuses as it gets upgraded.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Out of Tune Walkthrough
The Venatori are always up to something in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and that sometimes includes street musicians.
The Casting of Fortune provides bonuses and benefits to both Rook and their companions whenever Rook lands a perfect block—something that warriors should be doing often. For those who have mastered the perfect block system, this glitzy armor is a no-brainer.
3 Frontline Plated Mail
An Ever-Reliable Piece Of Gear
- Armor Class: Heavy
- Faction: Grey Wardens
- Base Defense: 175
- Base Ability Damage: 41%
Whether going for a heavy-weapon, block-focused, or even shield-tossing build, the Frontline Plated Mail, acquired at the Grey Warden faction merchant, is a staple for almost any warrior build and provides solid, reliable defense and damage resistance.
This armor focuses on building up a strong foundation of physical resistance in the early levels of its upgrades, before expanding into bleeding resistance, and finally inflicting bleeding on enemies at low health in the later parts of its upgrade path. Resistance to physical damage is never unwelcome, and the addition of bleeding resistance, plus a great way to turn the tables on enemies when reaching low health, is just the icing on top. This is a workhorse set of armor if there ever was one, "Ol' Reliable" for warriors of all stripes.
2 Spined Encasement
Gruesome And High-Quality Armor
- Armor Class: Medium
- Faction: Mourn Watch
- Base Defense: 132
- Base Ability Damage: 78%
This high-quality armor set is a fantastic pick for Warriors, especially those focusing on a reaper build. It's important to note, however, that while every faction has its perks, this particular set of armor is only available to Mourn Watch players.
Like most medium armor, Spined Encasement sacrifices defense for ability damage, but the abilities supplement this by increasing damage resistance from demons and undead. It is sold by the Mourn Watch faction shop, and further supplementing its defense is a bonus to overall defense relative to Mourn Watch strength.
1 Champion's Brilliant Regalia
Ornate And Grand Armor
- Armor Class: Heavy
- Faction: Grey Wardens
- Base Defense: 180
- Base Ability Damage: 44%
Found towards the end of the early game as well at a Converged City merchant, this armor is a grand example of Grey Warden pride. What frontline plated mail does for physical damage and bleeding, the Champion's Brilliant Regalia does for fire damage and burning.
This armor gradually increases resistance to fire damage, and beyond this, allows players to dowse the area in retributive fire when reaching low health. It's an excellent armor piece to finish off the early game of The Veilguard and head off into the mid-game.
