ARC Raiders is going all-out with a new dynamic event called Cold Snap. Players not only have to deal with ARC Enemies and hostile players, but also with the sheer cold that will kill them really fast if they don't seek refuge inside a building. The Frostbite mechanic adds an interesting new challenge for those already used to this extraction shooter.

But, for those who are really getting into it, five common mistakes will waste their precious time if they are not careful. If players are doing some of the things listed below: Stop right there! Think it carefully, as these activities will be cutting short on some fine looting, making Cold Snap runs less profitable for them. Here's the deal: From picking up unnecessary event items, to wasting time with certain containers.

How to Farm Candleberries ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders: How to Get Candleberries (Best Locations)

Candleberries in ARC Raiders are added in the Cold Snap update, and here are the best locations to farm them for the Candleberry Banquet project.

By

Harvesting Candleberries

Completing The Event Steps Will Give Players Enough Of These

Candleberries are an important part of the Flickering Flames event in ARC Raiders, but except for helping to complete certain steps of the Special Project, they are practically useless. They stack at 10, and a full stack is valued at 4600. Players looking to stash as many valuables as possible before the reset (Expeditions Project) are better off hoarding other things.

Plus, directly harvesting Candleberries from Bushes is a total waste of time. Players can get from 5 to 12 Candleberries from buried Raider Caches (they are scattered everywhere in Cold Snap), while a regular bush yields one or two Candleberries, and there's a maximum of three bushes per looting spot. Plus, they take longer to collect than the Raider Caches, and are harder to find. Don't waste precious time on this when there's a 2 x Loot Boost and tons of POIs with more valuable things to plunder.

Breaching Car Hoods

Only Trash Loot Here, Move Along

Metal Parts, Oil, Motors, Light Bulbs, Mechanical Components, and (only if extremely lucky) Advanced Mechanical Components: That's about all that players can get by breaching Car Hoods in ARC Raiders' Cold Snap maps, and it's a total waste of precious time to farm these looting spots. Car Hoods are slow to breach, noisy, expose the players, and the payoffs are not good enough to justify trying them.

Instead, players should be going around looking for enhanced loot POIs, Raider Caches (see the entry above), and Weapon Caches to maximize their gains. In fact, looting cars is the worst possible mistake to make in Cold Snap, since it exposes players to lingering outside for too long, and thus, catching Frostbite faster.

Breaching And Looting Baron Husks

Barons Are Big And Tempting, But With Subpar Loot, Even In Cold Snap

Sorry to break it to you, Raiders, but Barons are absolutely useless. Even in the Cold Snap dynamic event, these looting spots are absolute trash, and the loot they yield is neither expensive nor useful for upgrading the crafting benches. Plus, looting a Baron's Husk implies making tons of noise, equal to declaring to one quarter of the entire map's grid that players are there. The breaching stage will activate a superheated response from the Husk, launching a lot of red smoke that is visible from miles and causing a lot of noise.

Plus, the heat can also damage the players, not to mention the noise attracts all nearby ARC as if it were a giant Lure Grenade. The loot? Not worth the risk at all: Just pieces of scrap, Coolant, and broken ARC pieces that can be recycled into ARC Alloy and other minor topside materials. Players should invest their time looting other stuff.

Looting Probes & Fuel Tanks

They Are Super Annoying, And Frustrating To Loot

Probes are noisy, and they draw a lot of attention. Maybe that's why players feel inclined to breach and loot them. Even with the enhanced Breaching and Scavenging perks that diminish the noise and the time needed to break into these ARC Tech repositories, at the end of the day, it's not worth it. There are only a few Credits to gain (less than 7k approx) per breach, while there are far more lucrative things to loot out there.

ARC Raiders Reveals All the Changes Made in Its Last Major Update of the Year

Developer Embark Studios officially releases the highly anticipated Cold Snap update for ARC Raiders, which brings a game-changing new map condition.

For example: Breaching Rocketeer Husks is lucrative, especially with enhanced loot, since they might drop Damaged Rocketeer Drivers, a common recyclable that can be sold for 2000 creds and stacks up to 3 times. Another good alternative to probes is ARC Couriers, which can contain valuable things as Sentinel Firing Core, Leaper Pulse Units, or even the elusive Surveyor Vaults, needed for lots of advanced gear and crafting bench upgrades.

Calling Supply Drops, And Looting Them

Worst Time Waster In Cold Snap

As players might see in the images above, calling a Supply Drop and even worse, looting them, is a total waste of time. The loot is far from being enhanced (unlike the rest of the map's containers), and by activating the drop, players are announcing to the whole map that they're there and ready to be ambushed.

It's not only a risk, but a total waste of time to call for the loot, wait until it is launched, then waiting it to land, then breaching, and after that looting. In the time it took to do all that, another player can loot half a small POI or two Weapon Crate locations. Weapon Crates are a top priority, since they have boosted chances to drop some of the best weapons in the game. So, don't waste any time calling for a Supply Drop in Cold Snap; it's not worth it.
