The best-selling video game on Amazon right now is Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive Donkey Kong Bananza. Donkey Kong Bananza was one of the first Switch 2 exclusives revealed to the public, not long after Mario Kart World was officially announced. The first Donkey Kong 3D platformer since the days of the Nintendo 64, Donkey Kong Bananza has looked incredibly impressive and is easily one of the most-hyped Switch 2 games to date.
Recently, Nintendo hosted a special Donkey Kong Bananza-themed Nintendo Direct event that showcased various features that will be included in the upcoming game. The Donkey Kong Bananza Direct was met with a great deal of enthusiasm from Nintendo fans, especially Switch 2 early adopters who have already had their fill of Mario Kart World and are looking forward to the platform's next big game.
Donkey Kong Bananza Handheld Performance Confirmed
Donkey Kong Bananza confirms its Nintendo Switch 2 handheld performance capabilities, which may be surprising to some players.
The hype is real for Donkey Kong Bananza, as the game has soared to the top of Amazon's sales charts for video games. While it's being outsold by gift cards for Roblox, Xbox, and PlayStation, Donkey Kong Bananza is currently the best-selling physical game release on the platform, ahead of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Amazon didn't even have Switch 2 products at first, and so it seems getting that situation worked out is already proving lucrative for both Amazon and Nintendo.
Donkey Kong Bananza is the Best-Selling Game on Amazon Right Now
- Donkey Kong Bananza (Switch 2)
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (PS5)
- Death Sranding 2: On the Beach (PS5)
Donkey Kong Bananza is likely to be a huge commercial hit. Not only did the Donkey Kong Bananza Nintendo Direct drum up significant hype for the game, but it's also one of the earliest Switch 2 exclusives. Considering this, it's highly likely that most Switch 2 early adopters have already planned on getting Donkey Kong Bananza, though time will tell how its sales match up to Mario Kart World.
Mario Kart World is bundled with millions of Switch 2 units, and so it does have an unfair advantage over Donkey Kong Bananza. Not only that, but Mario Kart World is the follow-up to the incredibly successful Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which has become one of the best-selling video games of all time. Something working in Donkey Kong Bananza's favor, however, is its price point. Whereas Mario Kart World is $80 standalone, Donkey Kong Bananza is a little cheaper at $70.
If Amazon is any indication, Donkey Kong Bananza's pre-orders are proving fairly strong and there is a great deal of interest in the game. Based on what's been shown so far, Donkey Kong Bananza appears to be pulling out all the stops and looks like it could very well be a potential Game of the Year nominee, and its pre-release success on Amazon suggests that many agree with that prediction.
