Fully consuming the 2007 Disney movie Meet the Robinsons requires playing through three tie-in games on multiple platforms, according to a viral video on social media. The video recommended that Disney fans should play the various iterations of Meet the Robinsons on consoles like the Wii and the DS at different intervals throughout the film, as those games may explain some of the movie’s plot devices.

Originally released in theaters in March 2007, Meet the Robinsons is the 47th animated feature film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios, and the second film from the studio to use computer-generated graphics for the entire film, rather than traditional animation cels. Based on the story “A Day with Wilbur Robinson” by William Joyce, Meet the Robinsons is a time-traveling tale of Lewis, a 12-year-old orphan who aspires to be an inventor. At his school’s science fair, Lewis meets Wilbur Robinson, a boy who claims to come from the year 2037 to warn Lewis about a mysterious Bowler Hat Guy who absconded with a time machine.

Meet The Robinsons Tie-In Games Should Be Played Alongside the Film

While Meet the Robinsons is not one of Disney’s most-remembered films, it achieved moderate box office success, grossing $170.5 million against a $150 million budget. However, a viral TikTok slideshow by a user named Ndsixl stated that watching Meet the Robinsons in chronological order may help make sense of some of the movie's plot. After getting to the science fair scene early in Meet the Robinsons, the slideshow encouraged viewers to play the console and PC tie-in games.

While optional, the TikTok post mentioned the DS version of Meet the Robinsons as a way to fill time, and encouraged fans to play or watch until the time machine is acquired. Viewers were then encouraged to watch more of Meet the Robinsons, as Lewis finds out more about his descendants and how the Robinson family is intricately tied to him.

Finally, fans can play the Game Boy Advance version of Meet the Robinsons before finishing off the film. Meet the Robinsons on the PC, PS2, and Wii is a 3D platformer that encompasses 40 missions spread out across six locations, including Lewis' school, Wilbur's future timeline, and other periods. The home console version of Meet the Robinsons was developed by Avalanche Software, which has since become a subsidiary of WB Games.

The GBA and DS ports were respectively handled by Climax Studios and Altron. While Meet the Robinsons is not one of Disney's most successful tie-in games, it is a light-hearted story that demonstrates how the future can be greatly affected by someone's actions.
