Disney Dreamlight Valley has officially announced its next update. Arriving in Disney Dreamlight Valley on April 23, the new Wonderland Whimsy update has been confirmed to be themed to the Walt Disney Animation Studios Silver Age classic Alice in Wonderland. Disney Dreamlight Valley has teased the theme of the spring update for quite some time, leaving players on the edge of their seats for the reveal.

Players received their first teaser for the spring update when Disney Dreamlight Valley released its 2025 Free Content Roadmap last November. The winter image in the Roadmap featured Jasmine’s teal jeweled headband and Aladdin’s red fez, which led many players to accurately predict Jasmine and Aladdin as the Winter 2025 update’s character additions. Similarly, the spring update image in the Roadmap shows a shadowy forest with a cunning grin stretching across a tree. This smile reminded many players of the Cheshire Cat, making many players speculate that the spring 2025 update would be Alice in Wonderland- themed. Disney Dreamlight Valley players were vindicated once again, as the game’s various social profiles posted videos advertising the game’s new Wonderland Whimsy update on April 14.

Wonderland Whimsy Follows Typical Update Standards

Gamers have come to expect certain features during each Disney Dreamlight Valley free update. These include new characters, quality of life improvements, a new Star Path, new Premium Shop items, and new features overall. The two new characters falling down the rabbit hole to the Valley are Alice and the Cheshire Cat. Of course, each character will receive the standard ten levels of Friendship Rewards.

However, players must first go through the Wonderland Realm to unlock both characters by falling down the rabbit hole, traveling through the forest, and facing off the Queen of Hearts’ army of playing cards in her winding maze. Alice’s Friendship Quests seem to be tied to a new tea party feature, whereas the Cheshire Cat will stir up chaos across the Valley by popping up in random places.

Wonderland Whimsy’s Star Path holds a very similar name to the title of its update. The Garden of Whimsy Star Path will feature the standard six tiers, though developers have not confirmed whether Disney Dreamlight Valley will continue its trend of expanding Star Paths with each update. The Star Path is not just inspired by Spring and Alice in Wonderland, but also the Disney Fairies franchise. Garden of Whimsy’s clothing is pixie and Victorian-inspired per the update reveal. The Premium Dreamstyle this Star Path belongs to Minnie Mouse, though its Companion is a new character, Alice in Wonderland’s iconic smoking caterpillar in his butterfly form.

New Features and Quality of Life Updates in Wonderland Whimsy

The Wonderland Whimsy update’s new features are no slouch. Disney Dreamlight Valley pulled an April Fools’ Day prank on its player base by announcing an item called the Dreamlight Stompers, which would supposedly be able to break down items. When revealing the “new item” was in fact a prank, Disney Dreamlight Valley teased a genuine new item, revealed to be the Uncrafting station. This item features the same gameplay that the Dreamlight Stompers would, so Disney Dreamlight Valley players shouldn’t be disappointed by this trade-off. The item will be accessible after progressing in Cheshire Cat’s Friendship Quests.

New items aren’t the only quality of life improvements added in the Wonderland Whimsy update. Players can purchase extra slots for any small or medium-sized chests with a small payment of Dreamlight. A new sub-grid has also been added to Disney Dreamlight Valley’s build mode. This grid is specifically for items with surfaces, like tables, allowing them to be covered in knick-knacks, recipes, and more. New items will also be available in the Premium Shop, including Star Wars items to prepare for May 4. Players will get to fall down the rabbit hole into Disney Dreamlight Valley’s version of Wonderland on April 23.
