Many of these tasks have clear goals, but some use deliberately vague descriptions to challenge players to determine their objectives.
The Lovely Monsters Star Path features many of a commonly recurring type of Dreamlight duty which requires you to obtain a certain amount of a specific item. One of these duties requires you to dig for two shiny white gems. Here’s where you’ll find them in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Where to Find Shiny White Gems
The Disney Dreamlight Valley Star Path task “dig for shiny white gems” is a bit confusing, as obtaining said gems doesn’t involve digging at all. Rather, you’ll obtain the shiny white gems needed to complete this task the same as you would any other gems in Disney Dreamlight Valley: by mining rock nodes using the Royal Pickaxe.
The “shiny white gems” the task refers to are Shiny Diamonds, a rare gemstone found exclusively within the Valley's Forgotten Lands biome. You have a chance to receive a Shiny Diamond when mining rock nodes found in this biome, and in this biome only. Thankfully, the Star Path task requires you to find just two Shiny Diamonds.
To increase your chances of obtaining Shiny Diamonds when mining in the Forgotten Lands, you can use a Miracle Pickaxe Polish. This crafted enchantment increases your chances of receiving gemstones when mining, greatly increasing your odds of receiving a Shiny Diamond.
The rock nodes in Forgotten Lands have a chance to drop five different gemstones; Amethyst, Shiny Amethyst, Diamond, Shiny Diamond, and Onyx. Therefore, you may wish to opt for the larger version of this elixir, the Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish, which will apply its effects to more swings of the pickaxe than the regular version. Here’s what you’ll need to craft each potion:
- Miracle Pickaxe Polish - Crafted with 10 Vitalys Crystal, 5 Onyx, 500 Dreamlight
- Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish - Crafted with 20 Vitalys Crystal, 10 Onyx, 1,000 Dreamlight

Surprisingly, the "Dig for something blue" task doesn't involve digging. Here's how to complete this Star Path duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
You’ll also want to bring along a companion with the Mining role so you will receive additional items during your hunt for Shiny Diamonds. Unfortunately, any Shiny Diamonds they recover as a bonus item will not count toward completion of the Star Path duty. However, since you may be mining for a bit depending on your luck, you may as well bring someone along.
