Disney Dreamlight Valley’s A Rift in Time expansion welcomes players to discover the ancient mysteries and treasures of Eternity Isle, an all-new region featuring new quests, unlockable characters, crafting materials, and more. Eternity Isle features many of the same amenities as the Valley, including Goofy’s Stalls, Chez Remy, and even Scrooge’s Store, each of which mirror their Valley locations.
In this latest adventure, players continue to rely on their Royal Tools, alongside a powerful new addition called the Royal Hourglass, for gathering resources on the island and clearing paths for exploration. Upgrading these tools is essential for overcoming these barriers.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Use the Timebending Table
Here's how players can use the Timebending Table in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Unlike in the Valley, where quests provide tool upgrades, A Rift in Time requires players to craft these improvements. To do so, they will use new materials obtained on Eternity Isle at the newly introduced Timebending Table crafting station. Here’s how players can craft the specific upgrades required to complete the quest “Village Project: Timeless Trash” in Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time.
How to Start the Quest “Village Project: Timeless Trash”
The quest “Village Project: Timeless Trash” becomes available from Merlin immediately after completing his previous quest, “Village Project: Timeless Treasures.” While the previous quest focused on using the Timebending Table to craft items using parts obtained via Timebending, this new quest focuses on another important feature of the Timebending Table: upgrading the Royal Tools.
How to Complete the Quest “Village Project: Timeless Trash”
On Eternity Isle, players will encounter three diverse biomes—Ancient's Landing, Glittering Dunes, and Wild Tangle—each offering unique resources including new minerals, fruits, and spices available for foraging, just like in the Valley. Amidst the new materials found in each biome, players will also encounter a variety of obstacles that will occasionally block their path and hinder exploration.
Eternity Isle features four new types of objects that players can remove from its biomes to receive materials while clearing out the “trash.” Players will encounter Small and Large versions of each obstruction, with the latter requiring additional upgrades before they can be removed.

The quest “Village Project: Timeless Trash” focuses on removing the Small versions of these objects found in Ancient’s Landing, Glittering Dunes, and the Wild Tangle on Eternity Isle.
Craft Upgrades for the Royal Tools
Merlin instructs the player to head to a Timebending Table and create three enhancements for their Royal Tools. The player needs to craft each of the following upgrade potions:
|
Upgrade |
Materials |
|---|---|
|
Small Rubble Shovel Potion |
|
|
Small Glass Stalagmite Pickaxe Potion |
|
|
Small Evil Plant Watering Can Potion |
|
The recipes for each Potion can be found in the “Special” category at the Timebending Table and are available by default, without requiring the player to upgrade the Royal Hourglass. Although each of these upgrades are referred to as a 'Potion,' they should not be confused with the Royal Tool buff potions at regular crafting stations. The player won't actually create a physical Potion that will go into their inventory, nor do they need to consume it to upgrade the Royal Tool. Instead, the upgrades are automatically applied to the corresponding Royal Tool once crafting is complete.
Once the player has crafted all three of the required upgrades, return to Merlin and speak with him to complete this quest, “Village Project: Timeless Trash.” With their newly upgraded Royal Tools, the player can now remove the following obstacles in each of the three biomes:
- The Royal Shovel can remove Small Rubble in Ancient’s Landing. Small Rubble are grey cracked stones featuring vines and yellow flowers. Removing Rubble will provide Soil and Plastic Scrap.
- The Royal Pickaxe can remove Small Glass Stalagmites, the smaller of the two mushroom-like glass formations found in the Glittering Dunes. Removing Glass Stalagmites these will provide Glass.
- The Royal Watering Can will now remove Small Evil Plants in the Wild Tangle, which are surprisingly large purple flowers surrounded by thorny vines. Removing Evil Plants will provide Tropical Wood.
