  • Despite disappointment over the fake "Stompers" joke, players are excited about a mysterious new feature hinting at being an Alice in Wonderland-themed recycler of items.

Disney Dreamlight Valley developer Gameloft has teased a brand-new feature coming to the life sim in due course, announced as part of an April Fool’s Day prank. The gaming community was rife with fake news and questionable content being deployed from a variety of games during All Fool’s Day, designed to note the annual day of jokesters and hoaxes. While Disney Dreamlight Valley players were initially gutted by Gameloft’s prank, the devs quickly offered a peace token.

The adventure game was first released in 2022 and tasked players with ridding a wretched curse from the titular valley to return Disney and Pixar characters to their rightful home. To keep gameplay tailored to fans' needs and involve them in the development process, Disney Dreamlight Valley hosted a survey for players to give feedback to Gameloft. The survey asked players about the game’s expansions, specifically trial quests and puzzles, and also targeted new biomes, premium shop items, and Star Path rewards.

One Hello Kitty Island Adventure feature could justify a key gameplay element of Disney Dreamlight Valley that hasn't met its potential.

To celebrate April Fool’s Day, Gameloft pranked players by convincing them Dreamlight Stompers, a pair of shoes designed to break down crafted items, would be arriving in the next update. Sadly, fans were disappointed to learn the Stompers weren’t real, in contrast to Pokemon GO players loving their April Fool’s Day event, but the devs provided a salve by teasing a brand-new feature. Called a “peculiar thing,” the colorful contraption unveiled in Gameloft’s official image presented a machine of sorts, and the devs asked players to guess what it does.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Players Guess New April Fool's Day Feature

Disney Dreamlight Valley players would love the option to hide the Visit Station and see the Stompers come to fruition, but the enigmatic new feature left many excited. One Twitter user predicted the feature could destroy items to recycle resources, and several other players were in agreement that a recycler or some sort of deconstructor would be welcomed, proving the original “Stompers” prank was a telling clue all along.

While players provide feedback in the current evaluation, the last Disney Dreamlight Valley survey hinted at new franchises coming to gameplay. Hocus Pocus and Emperor's New Groove content was teased, and going by past clues in surveys, fans feel confident these IPs will burst to life soon in the game. Additionally, players are also waiting for more Alice in Wonderland-themed content to arrive, and some think Gameloft’s new feature may have something to do with Lewis Carroll's trippy epic.
