How To Start Mimsy Were the Borogoves

To start Mimsy Were the Borogoves in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you must first unlock Alice and complete her level 2 Friendship Quest called Books with No Pictures. You'll also need to tick off the following Mimsy Were the Borogoves quest requirements:

Reach Level 4 Friendship with Alice
Progress in Merlin's quests.
Progress with Anna.
Unlock the Forest of Valor biome.

After doing all the above, you can start Mimsy Were the Borogoves by chatting with Alice and choosing the Mimsy Were the Borogoves dialogue option to get started. Alice tells you she's discovered a mysterious poem about tracking down a treasure, but strangely, it's written in her handwriting.

Where to Find Something Buried Near A Place of Sunbaked Pleasure

The first clue in Mimsy Were the Borogoves is to find something buried near "a place of sunbaked pleasure." While it might bring the Sunlit Plateau to mind, you instead need to head to Dazzle Beach, where you can dig up a bottle in the sand with your Royal Shovel, which turns out to be a Poem in a Bottle. Talk to Alice to give her the bottle and hear the next poetic clue.

How to Find A Dark Cavern with Mystic Lights

Next on the list is to find a dark cavern with mystic lights. Although there are several possibilities, you need to go inside the Mystical Cave at Dazzle Beach to solve this one. Follow the path down to the bottom of the cave, using your Royal Watering can to water the False Mome Roths on the ground as you descend, which look like groups of colorful flowers.

At the bottom of the cave, fish up another Poem in a Bottle from the orange circle in the water using your Royal Fishing Rod, then talk to Alice about it.

How to Find A Jabberwock In Its House of Bark In A Wooded Yard

The next clue is to find a Jabberwock in its 'house of bark' in 'a wooden yard.' You can find the mysterious Jabberwock hiding inside a wooden log northwest of the Forest of Valor, as shown on the map above. Here, you can see a pair of sinister-looking yellow eyes peering out of the log. Approach the Jabberwock and talk to Alice, who thinks you might be able to lure the Jabberwock away using Wonderland Candles. However, you'll need a bunch of materials to make them.

Gather Materials To Craft and Place Wonderland Candles

To make Wonderland Candles, you'll need to gather the following materials:

x3 Tinkering Parts - crafted from Iron Ore and Coal Ore at a crafting station.
X6 Glass - crafting from x5 Sand and x1 Coal Ore at a crafting station (to make x1 Glass).
X9 Coal Ore - found by mining rocks in any biome.
X10 Red Bell Flower - found growing on the ground in the Forest of Valor.
X12 Yellow Daisy - found growing in the Peaceful Meadow.

Although you must collect many Red Bell Flowers and Yellow Daisies, both respawn pretty fast compared to other flowers in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Yellow Daisies respawn approximately every 20 minutes, and you can usually find up to around six at a time. Red Bell Flowers also have a similar spawn rate, so they shouldn't take too long to gather.

Crafting Wonderland Candles in Disney Dreamlight Valley Mimsy Were the Borogoves quest

Once you've gathered everything, craft the Wonderland Candles at a crafting station, which you can find under the Furniture tab. Return to Jabberwock's location in the Forest of Valor and place the candles around the log from the Alice icon in the Furniture menu. You can place the candles however you like as long as they are close to the log. Doing so causes the Jabberwock to vanish, leaving a tiny wooden chest inside the log.

Grab the chest by interacting with it and transferring it from its storage to your inventory, then speak with Alice one more time to give her the Kaleidoscope and complete the Mimsy Were the Borogoves quest. While you've got to the bottom of the treasure trail, Alice also says perhaps the next time you speak, she may have uncovered the mystery of why she hid the Kaleidoscope in the first place.
