Disney Dreamlight Valley’s next update may be primarily focused on Alice in Wonderland, but new items from a galaxy far, far away will be headed to the Valley alongside it. Speculation about Alice in Wonderland and Star Wars content coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley has been rampant among players for quite some time. It would appear that this speculation is about to become a reality, as both kinds of content have now been confirmed.

The Wonderland Whimsy update is headed to Disney Dreamlight Valley on April 23. This update will add a new item to the game, the Uncrafting Station, which has the same recycling features as the Dreamlight Stompers that served as an April Fools' Day joke. The two new characters in the Wonderland Whimsy update are Alice and the Cheshire Cat, and it will also mark the debut of a new Star Path, the Garden of Whimsy Star Path, which features a new Minnie Mouse Dreamstyle and a new Premium animal companion. Other Wonderland-themed clothing items will also be available, and there will be additional quality-of-life improvements.

One Disney Franchise Should Inspire a Shift in Dreamlight Valley

One Disney property would be the perfect vehicle to introduce an expansive new biome to Disney Dreamlight Valley for players to explore.

Star Wars Content is Headed to the Valley

But perhaps the most surprising thing about the Wonderland Whimsy update is that Star Wars content will be added Disney Dreamlight Valley alongside it. Specifically, players will be able to buy a plethora of Star Wars items from the game’s Premium Shop, including Jedi robes, a lightsaber hand accessory with an accompanying photo pose, and even R2D2. The bubbly droid will follow players around as a Companion, fulfilling Star Wars fans' dreams of having their own droid. These items will be available shortly before May 4, allowing Disney Dreamlight Valley players to celebrate Star Wars Day in style, though an official release date has yet to be announced.

When it comes to its roster, Disney Dreamlight Valley has only added characters from films by either Walt Disney Animation or Pixar Studios. However, the game has taken inspiration from properties beyond those two studios' offerings with its furniture items, clothing, motifs, and more. The most obvious examples of this are the mountains of Disney Parks-related items in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and there are also items that reference various Disney Channel Original Movies (DCOMs) like Hocus Pocus. While the parks and DCOMs may be immensely popular with Disney Dreamlight Valley fans, Star Wars has an even broader appeal, and the Star Wars- themed items that are coming to the game may mean that it’s only a matter of time before Marvel also makes its way to the Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Should Line the MCU Up to Bat

With Star Wars items confirmed for Disney Dreamlight Valley, it would not be surprising if Gameloft and Disney were also planning to add Marvel content. While there is no official Marvel holiday, April 28 is National Superhero Day, and Disney Dreamlight Valley could choose to add Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) content on that date. Alternatively, the game could honor one of Marvel’s most-important creators by releasing content around Jack Kirby’s birthday on August 28 or Stan Lee’s birthday on December 28.

But the best way for Disney Dreamlight Valley to add Marvel content would be to simply return to its roots. Players may forget that Big Hero 6 is actually an adaptation of a Marvel property. Adding characters from Big Hero 6 would not only be in keeping with the game's emphasis on building its roster from Walt Disney Animation or Pixar Studios films, it would also give Disney Dreamlight Valley an excuse to include MCU items, both in its Star Path and in the Premium Shop.
