The charming life simulation game Disney Dreamlight Valley is introducing a new physical release called the Cozy Edition, complementing the existing digital-only Founder's Pack Editions. The Cozy Edition will be release on multiple platforms including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One. The Switch version will include a download code instead of a game cartridge, and all versions will include the same assortment of both digital and physical goodies.
Gameloft has not confirmed if the physical Cozy Edition release will mark the end of the game's Early Access stage. Currently, players must purchase a digital bundle or the physical Cozy Edition to access the game. Once the game is out of Early Access, it will be free-to-play and players will no longer have to purchase a game bundle in order to download and play.
During this Early Access period, Gameloft offers an Avatar Designer Tool for players to customize a character avatar they can import into Disney Dreamlight Valley. However, they have reported that this tool will be disabled after Early Access, making it crucial for players to use it now to unlock the exclusive Dreamlight Jersey clothing before it's too late. How to Download the Avatar Designer Tool
Gameloft’s Disney Dreamlight Valley Avatar Designer Tool is a PC-exclusive app that lets players design an avatar which can be imported directly into Disney Dreamlight Valley. Players can download the tool for free via the Microsoft Store, Epic Games Store, or Steam.
Players who have already purchased a game bundle for the Steam version won't be able to download the Avatar Designer Tool from Steam. However, it can still be downloaded from the other marketplaces, including the Microsoft Store or Epic Games Store, and used to generate a code which can be redeemed within the Steam version of the game.
The Avatar Designer Tool is not available on consoles, but players can still use the PC app to generate a code that can be used on their console version of the game, without having to purchase a PC bundle. Players should be aware that the Avatar Designer Tool is incompatible with the Mac operating system.
How to Create an Avatar
After downloading and installing the Avatar Designer Tool, players can use the app to explore an array of customization options. These options range from basic features like hairstyles and eye color to a wide variety of clothing items. The tool's version of Dreamlight Valley's Touch of Magic tool allows even further customization. Any clothing chosen during this process will automatically become available in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Additionally, players can secure an exclusive Dreamlight Jersey only by using the Avatar Designer Tool and importing their created avatar into Disney Dreamlight Valley. This item does not need to be equipped in the Avatar Designer Tool; it will be automatically unlocked in-game when the avatar is imported.
Generating and Importing an Avatar Code
Once the avatar design is complete, players can capture photos with multiple backgrounds and poses. After saving these photos, players can navigate back to the main menu and select the "Avatar Code" option.
Clicking on the button generates a code that remains valid for 24 hours. This code can then be copied and will be ready for import into the game. If the code expires, the player can open the Avatar Designer Tool and repeat this step to generate a new code. The player can import an avatar only once, but doing so will guarantee the Dreamlight Jersey will be unlocked.
It's important to note that importing an avatar created in the Avatar Designer Tool will overwrite the player's existing in-game avatar appearance. Players looking only to unlock the Dreamlight Jersey should consider applying their current appearance to an in-game mannequin so they can easily revert their appearance.
Importing an Avatar & Unlocking the Dreamlight Jersey
To import the custom avatar in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players should follow these steps:
- Enter Disney Dreamlight Valley
- Open the game menu and click on the Settings category
- Click on the Help section in the side menu
- Click the “Import Avatar” button
- Enter the Avatar Code into the pop-up box and click "OK"
This action imports the avatar, adds any equipped clothing to the Wardrobe, and also unlocks the exclusive Dreamlight Jersey clothing item.
Console players must use the PC tool to generate a code that can be used in their specific version of Disney Dreamlight Valley. For those without access to the Avatar Designer Tool, Disney Dreamlight Valley Discord community member Mandi provides a solution. Every Friday, a new code is shared in a dedicated Discord thread that can be copied and used to import an avatar and unlock the Dreamlight Jersey. However, these codes expire 24 hours after posted, so players who want to unlock the Dreamlight Jersey but don’t have access to the Avatar Designer Tool will want to check back if they miss Friday’s post.
