The mystery behind Disney Dreamlight Valley's strange, potato-focused secret quests have eluded players for months across the game’s updates during its Early Access period. In “The Remembering Update,” savvy secret solvers in the Dreamlight Valley community have finally uncovered the mystery of these peculiar potatoes and the vibrant potions they create.

The Crystalline Green Potion is one of six colored potions that can be created upon discovering and solving puzzles to obtain each of the six corresponding potato items. These potatoes are obtained through a variety of strange tasks, including locating a handful of similarly colored items or by hunting throughout the valley for clues that are detailed in books. Here is everything players need to know about getting the Green Potato and Jade Crystal to craft the Crystalline Green Potion in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Updated October 27th, 2024 by Usama Ali: With the Crystalline Green Potion in hand, you’ll be one step closer to making the Rainbow Potion in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One of the main ingredients you’ll need to craft the Crystalline Green Potion is Jade Crystal. This crystal is formed by melting down sixteen Emerald Bottles into Emerald Sliver. To help you find these bottles and complete the Green Potato Quest, we’ve updated this guide with the locations of the Emerald Green bottles.

How To Start The Green Potato Quest

To get started with the Green Potato quest, players need to fish for Emerald Bottles scattered across different biomes. These bottles are easy to spot in the daytime, especially the ones at Dazzle Beach, but the rest are quite tricky to find.

You’ll need to find 16 Emerald Bottles in Disney Dreamlight Valley, which you’ll later convert into Emerald Sliver to make the Jade Crystal. When you see a sparkly orange ripple in the water, it's a sign that you're fishing directly over an Emerald Bottle instead of a random fish. Keep trying to cast your line onto the ripple until you successfully reel in the bottle.

Here are the locations of all the Emerald Bottles you can find around the valley.

How to make the Crystalline Green Potion

The Crystalline Green Potion can be crafted after obtaining two important materials: the Jade Crystal and the Green Potato. Once both items have been procured, a new recipe becomes available at the crafting station in the Potion & Enchantment category.

These two materials can be obtained by completing hidden tasks in Disney Dreamlight Valley, which are detailed below.

How to get the Green Potato

The Green Potato is one of the two materials, along with an Empty Vial, required to make the Crystalline Green Potion in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Instead of simply discovering the Green Potato at the end of a trail of secrets, the player instead must first obtain the Green Seed. In order to get the Green Seed, the player must have unlocked a hidden room inside the Vitalys Mines.

The hidden room is unlocked during the quest “Seed of Memories,” which is available upon reaching Friendship Level 10 with The Lion King’s Simba. This is the same room in which players will obtain the recipe for the Dreamlight Tree. Of course, to reach this quest, players must first have invited Simba into the valley and also raised their Friendship with him to its maximum level.

Once the player has unlocked the hidden laboratory inside the Vitalys Mines, they can head back into the room and interact with a green orb sitting on one of the desks. Doing so will cause the Green Seed to pop out and land on the floor, where it can be collected by the player.

The player then needs to plant the Green Seed in the Forgotten Lands biome. After watering the Green Seed and waiting three hours, the Green Potato will grow and can be gathered.

How to get the Jade Crystal

The Jade Crystal is the other material required to craft the Crystalline Green Potion and requires quite a bit of exploration throughout the valley. To obtain the Jade Crystal, players must first seek out and collect 16 Emerald Bottles located in the waters of the valley. Once the player has discovered the location of a bottle, they must fish it out of the water, and it will be collected in their inventory.

Once all bottles have been collected, the player needs to right-click (or its respective hotkey) on each one or select the “Use” button when left-clicking a bottle. This will convert each bottle into an Emerald Sliver. Once the player has created all 16 Emerald Slivers, they should head to any crafting table where they’ll discover a new recipe available in the Functional Items category: the Jade Crystal.

Once the player has both crafted the Jade Crystal and grown and collected the Green Potato, these two items, along with an Empty Vial, should be combined at a crafting station into the Crystalline Green Potion. Once the player has obtained all six colored potions, each crafted from the mysterious potatoes and other materials, they can be combined at a crafting station into the Rainbow Potion, a key item to unlocking and obtaining the Rainbow Fox companion pet in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
