When it comes to materials in Disney Dreamlight Valley, few are in higher demand than plain old Coal Ore. Coal Ore is used in a few crafting recipes, but most importantly, it is needed every single time the player wants to cook something. Running out of Coal Ore can be a very annoying experience, so it's important that players know the best way to farm lots of Coal Ore quickly in order to ensure that they never run out again and that their cooking or smelting can go on uninterrupted.
Although Coal is one of the most common resources in Disney Dreamlight Valley, some players find that it still can't keep up with the demand. For players that like to cook in order to keep their energy bar in the gold or that want to smelt a ton of Iron or Gold Ingots, having a steady supply of Coal is a must. Dreamlight Valley - Buying Coal Ore From Kristoff's Stall
The easiest way to obtain Coal is to purchase it from Kristoff's stall. Though there was a time when Kristoff's supply of Coal was limited each day, Dreamlight Valley recently brought back limitless Coal, much to the joy of players. As soon as players unlock and upgrade Kristoff's stall, there's a chance that he will sell Coal each day.
On days when he does have Coal Ore in stock, players are able to buy an unlimited amount at a fixed rate of 5 Star Coins per Coal Ore. It's highly recommended that players stock up on a ton of Coal if they have the funds needed to do so.
Dreamlight Valley - Mining Coal Ore
For those players that don't have a Pumpkin empire for unlimited Star Coins in Dreamlight Valley, the next best way to get Coal Ore is to simply mine it the old-fashioned way. Every single rock spot in the valley has a chance to drop Coal Ore, so players should just pick the biome that has other materials they want as well. For example, if players need Iron, they should mine in the Forest of Valor. Be sure to bring a Mining Companion as well for extra rewards.
Dreamlight Valley - What is Coal Ore For?
Aside from needing one Coal for every meal the player cooks, Coal Ore is also needed in certain crafting recipes. Refined Materials like Gold Ingots, Iron Ingots, Glass, and Bricks each require one Coal Ore to craft. Likewise, the Asphalt path and other decorative items need Coal Ore in order to craft them.
