Disney Dreamlight Valley player can show their love for their Critters by building them a Cozy Companion Home, an item that will let multiple companions run free in certain areas of the valley. While the adorable Critters may not play too much of a role in the game's story or core gameplay loop, players seem to love the recent additions that allow them to interact with their Critters to a greater degree. The Cozy Companion Home is just one way that the game lets players do this, and can be a great way to let other Critters aside from the player's favorites have a chance to shine.
The Cozy Companion Home is relatively new to Disney Dreamlight Valley, only having been added in the 1.4 update called Pride of the Valley. The main focus of this update was definitely the new characters Simba and Nala, but the extra attention paid to the game's many cute Critters is definitely appreciated. Here is how players can craft and use the Cozy Companion Home.
How To Craft The Cozy Companion Home
The Cozy Companion Home is considered a Functional Item, so players will find the recipe for it under that tab at the crafting station. Although it isn't too resource intensive, the many flowers required may have players searching for a while unless they've stocked up on flowers already. Players will need the following resources to craft the Cozy Companion Home:
- 15 Softwood - Found near trees in early biomes, can also be purchased from Kristoff's Stall.
- 5 Sunflowers - Can be picked on Dazzle Beach.
- 5 White & Red Hydrangeas - Can be picked on Dazzle Beach.
- 1 Topaz - Mined from rock spots in the Plaza.
How To Use The Cozy Companion Home
After crafting the Cozy Companion Home, players can place it outside like any other piece of Dreamlight Valley furniture. The item is located under both the Essentials tab and the Miscellaneous tab, and takes up a 4x4 space. Players will now be able to interact with the Cozy Companion Home and select up to four Critters to roam around the area near the little home. They'll always stay near the home they are assigned to, so players don't need to worry about their Critters wandering off.
Players can use this to display their favorite Critters outside their house, or even to reunite Pua and Moana by placing the Cozy Companion Home outside of her house. For those that want to pamper their Critters even more, other items like the Flying Companion Feeder, Fuzzy Friend Dish, Playful Companion Pinwheel, and Pixar Companion Ball can be placed nearby. Critters in Cozy Companion Homes will then occasionally interact with these items.
