How to Complete A Very Merry Unbirthday in Dreamlight Valley
Check Your Mailbox and Talk to Alice
Once you hit friendship level 10 with Alice, you will get a letter from Merlin in your mailbox. He suggests doing something silly with Alice to help break the Kaleidoscope curse.
After reading the letter, go find Alice. She will tell the player about a fun tradition of Wonderland that she really misses: Unbirthdays. She wants to bring that celebration to the Valley. Your next step is to go talk to Remy and see how he can help with the Unbirthday party.
Make Layers for Unbirthday Cakes
Remy wants the Unbirthday party to feel extra special, so he asks you to bake some colorful Unbirthday cake layers. Here’s what you need to make:
Banana Cake Layer
- 1 x Banana
- 1 x Milk
- 1 x Egg
- 1 x Wheat
- 1 x Sugar.
Raspberry Cake Layer
- 1 x Raspberry
- 1 x Milk
- 1 x Egg
- 1 x Wheat
- 1 x Sugar.
Blueberry Cake Layer
- 1 x Blueberry
- 1 x Milk
- 1 x Egg
- 1 x Wheat
- 1 x Sugar.
Find the Villagers for Cake Decorations
Now it's time to get some help decorating the cakes. Players will need to talk to two villagers:
- A fiery villager with knowledge of candles: Mushu
- A sweet-toothed villager with a love of candles: Vanellope.
Both of them will be excited about the Unbirthday party, and Vanellope will hand over the decorations you need.
Craft the Unbirthday Cake Candles
Now players will need to get these materials to craft cake candles:
- 4 x Blue Passion Lilies
- 5 x Red Nasturtiums
- 7 x Green Passion Lilies
- 12 x Coal

Talk to Villagers and Go to Alice’s House
Next, players will need a few more silly non-edible decorations for the unbirthday cake. Go talk with Goofy, Anna, and Pumbaa. They’ll each give you something quirky like a toy train track or a ceramic plate.
Once you’ve got everything, head over to Alice’s house to help her build the cake. Start by placing the cake layers, then add the icing and decorations. To finish it all off, put the Kaleidoscope on top of the cake.
Talk to WALL-E and Cheshire Cat
Once you finish the cake with Alice, it suddenly disappears. You will find a note left behind by Cheshire Cat. It admits to taking the cake and gives you a riddle to solve if you want to get it back. The riddle talks about a plant, so Alice tells you to go ask WALL-E for help since the shy robot loves plants more than anyone else in the valley.
WALL-E will hand you a seed, and once you plant it, it will grow into a purple cactus flower. Take that flower to the Cheshire Cat inside the Dream Castle, and he will finally return the cake. After that, bring the cake back to Alice and place it anywhere in the valley using furniture mode to complete the quest.
