Little Louis's Big Break is Tiana's second friendship quest as part of Disney Dreamlight Valley's Dapper Delights update. After unlocking Tiana and reaching friendship level four, you can embark on a quest to rescue Tiana's new crocodile friend, Louis, who Mother Gothel has trapped in a cage after he destroyed her garden.

Jafar's Laboratory is a fun quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley where you have to solve challenging puzzles and find his throne key.
However, Little Louis's Big Break is a quest with several steps, some of which can be tricky — especially when placing fencing for Mother Gothel's new garden. There are also quite a few resources to craft in a quest that goes to town when it comes to crafting and gardening. Provided everything goes smoothly, it's a relatively quick and rewarding quest to complete, especially if you're planning on unlocking all of Tiana's friendship quests.
Speak With Tiana & Mother Gothel In Disney Dreamlight Valley
To begin Little Louis's Big Break, you must unlock Tiana and complete her level two friendship quest called Back from the Bayou, where you also unlock Tiana's restaurant and meal stall. Once you reach level four of friendship with Tiana, such as by giving her gifts, you can unlock Little Louis's Big Break quest. The quest starts with you following Tiana to the Glade of Trust to search for her new pal, a cute crocodile called Louis. However, Louis is nowhere to be found, so you must enter Mother Gothel's house in the Willow Tree to investigate, where she has sadly got Louis locked up in a cage.
Rebuild Mother Gothel's Garden
Mother Gothel agrees to let Louis free if you replant and rebuild her garden. Fortunately, you don't need to worry about unlocking the original one and can simply build a new one from scratch. However, you must have Mother Gothel unlocked, of course. To begin, you need to buy and plant the following seeds:
- x10 Spinach
- X10 Rice
- x10 Okra
Fortunately, you buy all of the above seeds from Goofy's stall in the Glade of Trust, a biome where you can sometimes dig up or find Okra seeds for free. Once you've got the seeds, it's time to plant them, and you can do this anywhere in the Glade of Trust, such as near the Willow Tree as pictured below.
After digging all the holes with your shovel and planting the seeds, you need to craft and build a white picket fence at a crafting station and place it anywhere around them.
When placing the white picket fence in Little Louis's Big Break quest, you don't need to be neat about it or completely box in all the crops. As long as you place all the fence pieces from the furniture menu, you'll complete the objective. However, if you have too many items in the biome, you may need to remove some before you can place new ones.
You can craft a white picket fence from the materials below:
- x48 white picket fence made from softwood, with 5 pieces of softwood making three white picket fences.
Speak to Mother Gothel and ask her if she's happy with the garden. She then gives you a golden key to unlock Louis's cage. Head inside the Willow Tree and interact with the cage to unlock it.

Spinach is a crop in Disney Dreamlight Valley that players can use to earn Star Coins, cook food, or restore energy, but it must first be unlocked.
Gather Materials For Little Louis' New House
Understandably, as soon as he's free, little Louis makes a bolt for it. Return to speak with Tiana, who suggests crafting him a companion home to cheer him up. While Tiana gives you some materials to make it, you'll probably need to find the rest. Everything you need to make a Bayou Companion Home and where to find all the materials is detailed below:
- x15 Hardwood - found in the Glade of Trust, Forest of Valor, and Frosted Heights
- x5 Blue Marsh Milkweed - the Glade of Trust
- x1 Orange & Red Milk Marshweed - the Glade of Trust
- x10 Clay - digging in the Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, or the Forgotten Lands
- x1 Emerald - mining in the Glade of Trust or the Forest of Valor
Craft A Bayou Companion Home In Disney Dreamlight Valley
The final step in Little Louis's Big Break is to craft his new home. Once crafted at a crafting station, place the Bayou Companion Home anywhere you like in the Glade of Trust from the furniture menu again (as pictured below).
Once you've placed Louis' new home, ask Tiana if she is happy with it to complete the Little Louis' Big Break quest.
To unlock the next quest, you'll need to reach friendship level seven with Tiana and also ensure you've progressed far enough with Woody's friendship quests.
