Mementos are powerful magical objects players can find in Disney Dreamlight Valley. There are no specific locations to obtain them as Dreamers simply must complete a couple of quests for certain characters. Merlin has a special quest that triggers only when you have gotten a Memento and will then explain to players their importance. Here's where to find all the Mementos in DDV.

How To Get All Mementos In DDV - Disney Dreamlight Valley
There are five Mementos players can collect while unlocking characters and completing various friendship quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
The Secret Journal (Jasmine's Memento In DDV)
Upon completing Jasmine's Wild Wild Wishes quest, players will get the Secret Journal. You need to reach friendship level 10 with the princess and complete her previous quests to trigger the Wild Wild Wishes mission. Although the journal is picked up during the friendship level 7 quest, Dreamers won't get it until the last quest.
Kaleidoscope (Alice's Memento In DDV)
Complete Alice's final friendship quest, A Very Merry Unbirthday, to receive the Kaleidoscope that was first seen in a previous quest.
Birthday Party Invitation (Beauty and the Beast Memento In DDV)
Unlike the previous Mementos, the Birthday Party Invitation is received during the Beauty and the Beast realm quest. Complete A Guide to Better Castle-Keeping to obtain the Memento.
Nostalgic Instant Photos (Cinderella's Memento In DDV)
Increase Cinderella's friendship level to 10 and complete her last quest, The Friendship Ball, to get the Nostalgic Instant Photos Memento in DDV.
New Comfort Bear (Sadness's Memento In DDV)
Unlock Joy and Sadness and invite them to the Dreamlight Valley. Next, spend time with Sadness and complete the Create a Bear friendship level 10 quest. This adds the New Comfort Bear as a furniture item, which is also a Memento. It's not a small item that players can stash away in chests, but a giant, fluffy bear that can be placed somewhere in the valley. Do note that crafting this bear requires completing both Joy and Sadness quests.
How To Use Mementos In DDV - Disney Dreamlight Valley
Once players obtain at least one of these Mementos, The Memento story quest is triggered. Speaking with Merlin is the only objective of the quest, and the start of the conversation will depend on which Memento you show Merlin. He says that you, as the Ruler, have previously sealed away powerful memories inside certain items and gotten rid of them so as not to deal with bad experiences. The wizard then asks you to keep this Memento and others you find somewhere safe, as you might need them later.
It is unclear where you will use them, but Gameloft has hinted that Dreamers might need the Mementos during the Puppy Love free update.
