Completing the Decay to Grow quest allows Sally to have better soil for her Halloween plants in Disney Dreamlight Valley. You will help her compost some materials and catch the compost thief who’s stealing all your hard work.
There are not many requirements to trigger the Decay to Grow quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, as you simply need to make sure that Sally is a certain friendship level and unlock a one-eyed comedian in your valley.

Players will finally get the chance to unlock Sally after completing the Woven Bridge quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How To Complete The Decay To Grow Quest In Disney Dreamlight Valley
For a start, Sally must be friendship level 4, and Mike Wazowski needs to be available as a villager. Completing these requirements will trigger the Decay to Grow quest.
Upon speaking with Sally, she confesses that the Halloween plants aren’t sprouting, so she comes up with a compost project to have better soil. For starters, collect the following materials in DDV to craft a Compost Bin:
- Bricks x15: Combine Clay x5 and Coal Ore x1 to make Brick or buy from Kristoff’s Stall.
- Soil x10: Obtained from digging or gardening or using Rich Soil to get normal Soil.
- Dark Wood x10: Collect from the Forgotten Lands.
- Vegetable Trimmings from Remy x3: Speak with Remy to get the trimmings.
Craft the Compost Bin and hand it to Sally in Vitalys Mines. Now that the Patchwork Gardener has set the bin in the mines, go to the Sunlit Plateau and collect some:
- Dry Wood x6: Collect from Sunlit Plateau, Forgotten Lands, or Frosted Heights.
- Dried Plants x8: Locate the sparkling brown plants on the ground of the Sunlit Plateau and pick them up.
Return to the mines and give the materials to Sally to place inside the Compost Bin.
Sadly, you discover that something or someone has been knocking over the bin and stealing the compost. Assuming it’s a Raccoon, Dreamers, and Sally decide to craft a Critter Trap using Dreamlight Shard to protect the bin:
- Hardwood x10: Collect from Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, and Frosted Heights.
- Blueberry x5: buy from Goofy’s Stall or harvest from Dazzle Beach and Forest of Valor.
- Iron Ingots x2: Buy from Kristoff’s Stall or combine Iron Ore x 5 and Coal Ore x1.
- Dream Shards x5: Dig sparkling holes anywhere.
Craft the Critter Trap, place it in Vitalys Mines, and then head out to the Glade of Trust to collect three worms for Sally. Use the Shovel to dig the worms out and then deliver them to the Patchwork Gardener.
Upon returning to the Mines, you discover that Mike Wazowski was the one responsible for the missing compost. Sally explains to the comedian that he can take some to eat, but leave some compost for her garden. After clearing the misunderstanding, speak with Sally one final time to complete the Decay to Grow quest.
