A creative Disney Dreamlight Valley player has looked to the classic board game Candy Land while customizing their game world. The reimagining of the title is gaining attention from fellow fans and is intensifying the demand for an awaited feature in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley's appeal is largely in letting the player meet and play alongside iconic characters from the litany of cartoons and 3D animations the studio and its subsidiaries have created over the years. As a life sim similar to games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players are also able to customize their characters and their Dreamlight Valley, which has previously led players to recreating slews of iconic characters, outfits, and areas.
Now, Reddit user MooLawnMushu has shared a path that serves as a reimagining of the board game Candy Land. A decorative outline of candy on the ground is filled in with colored squares designating player spots, which appear to have been built with customized rugs using the Touch of Magic system. Finally, a candy house is positioned at the end of the path, taking the place of the traditional Candy Castle one would find in the board game. MooLawnMushu says that the work is still very much in progress, but the creation is already being applauded by the community. The comments responding to the post are full of fans waxing nostalgic due to the similarities between the recreation and the original Candy Land.
Many players professed that they've considered building something similar, or were otherwise inspired by Candy Land in some way in their worlds. However, several pointed out a missing feature in Disney Dreamlight Valley that they're still yearning for - multiplayer. Unlike Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can't visit friends in the game, so while this board game recreation looks like a lot of fun, there's no way to partake in actually having a game on it with other players. However, multiplayer is coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley sometime this year, so players just need to be patient for now.
The game seems to have a bright future ahead, as it has already seen numerous content updates, though there are still Disney characters that haven't come to Disney Dreamlight Valley yet. The game is set to receive a full release later this year, but players have already shown their immense creativity with the tools and assets currently available to them. It'll be interesting to see how the player base's creations are inspired and fueled as the game expands further.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
