Once players complete "The Dark Castle" and "The Remembered," the last two quests in the initial storyline of Disney Dreamlight Valley, the game's credits will appear, signifying the completion of the first part of the magical story. However, there is still one final quest to undertake after the credits conclude. To initiate this next quest, the player must revisit the Dark Castle by utilizing the portal located in the center of the Plaza.
After entering the Dark Castle, the player will notice a square teleporter located to the right of the realm doors on the first floor. The player should step onto this teleporter, which will transport them to another section of the castle. In this newly accessible area, they will find the Orb of Unity lying on the ground. The player should collect the orb and follow the steps detailed below to start and complete the quest “Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place" in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Get Wings And Fly
With the Jungle Getaway update, Dreamlight Valley players can now get wings and fly around the valley. Here's how.
Updated October 27th, 2024 by Usama Ali: Disney Dreamlight Valley’s "Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place" quest is a story-driven adventure that involves Merlin, the wise, old wizard, and a mysterious pillar on Dazzle Beach. The quest tasks players to uncover the mystery of the Pillar of Unity, which is the last corrupted pillar remaining in Dreamlight Valley. Players will need to find the Orb of Unity and head out to solve the puzzle on the island near Skull Rock. By completing the Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place quest, players can finally restore Dreamlight Valley to its former glory.
How To Start Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place Quest
To start the "Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place" quest, players first need to collect the Orb of Unity from the Dark Castle. With the orb now in their inventory, players can travel to Dazzle Beach and head to the island near Skull Rock.
Once there, players can find the Pillar of Unity in the center of the island. The Pillar of Unity is the last of the corrupted pillars in Dreamlight Valley. Approach the Pillar of Unity and interact with it. Next, place the Orb of Unity in the slot to cleanse the pillar. This will trigger a short cutscene where some runes appear around the Pillar of Unity, signaling the start of the "Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place" quest.
How To Solve Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place Quest
Savvy Disney fans may recognize the runes on the ground as characters of the Atlantean language, featured in Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire. These runes have shown up in previous quests, and are now the key to solving the puzzle of “Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place.” The solution involves all seven pillars, and their respective Orbs, found throughout Dreamlight Valley.
Each of the Orbs that the player has collected throughout previous story quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley feature one of these Atlantean characters glowing at its center. These characters correspond with the first letter of each pillar’s name. The Orb embedded in the Pillar of Friendship contains the Atlantean character for the letter F, the Orb of Unity features the character for the letter U, and so on.
Where To Place Pillars On Skull Rock Island
To uncover the mystery behind these mysterious runes, the player needs to relocate each biome’s pillar to the island near Skull Rock and place them atop the rune that matches the character featured in that pillar’s Orb. To move a pillar, activate Furniture Mode and minimize the Furniture menu for increased visibility of the valley and its objects.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Serpent’s Gift Quest Walkthrough
The Serpent's Gift is a fun friendship quest for Jafar in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Here's how players can complete it.
The player can zoom in and out of the valley’s overworld view as needed, and should scroll across the map to locate the pillars in each zone. To pick up a pillar, the player can click on it and will be able to drag it to another location. Once a pillar has been selected, the player should drag it back to the island near Skull Rock and place it on top of the correct corresponding glowing rune.
Here is the correct order that each pillar should be placed around the Pillar of Unity on the island near Skull Rock. Starting at the symbol directly above the Pillar of Unity and traveling clockwise, place the pillars in the following order:
- Pillar of Friendship (found in the Peaceful Meadow biome)
- Pillar of Trust (found in the Glade of Trust biome)
- Pillar of Nurturing (found in the Sunlit Plateau biome)
- Pillar of Remembrance (found in theForgotten Lands biome)
- Pillar of Love (found in the Frosted Heights biome)
- Pillar or Courage (found in the Forest of Valor biome)
- Pillar of Power (found in the Dazzle Beach biome)
Once all seven pillars are in place around the Pillar of Unity, a short cutscene will play and the mouth of Skull Rock appears to open wider, as though it is beckoning for the player to enter and discover its hidden mysteries. Unfortunately, they are not yet able to investigate.
The player will then have to visit Merlin to report this occurrence, who expresses his concern and is just as bewildered. He lets the player know that he will have to further research this strange phenomenon, and the main story quest ends here. Players will have to wait for a future game update to discover more about the pillars and their effect on Skull Rock in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
