Disney Dreamlight Valley is known for its dedication to holiday events. Players are always excited about the various festivities Disney and Gameloft cook up for the hit simulation game. From Trick-or-treating to the Gift of Giving event and Disney Dreamlight Valley’s current Eggstravaganza, Disney Dreamlight Valley sure knows how to create a fun holiday-themed event full of fun new rewards.
The game’s reputation for these festive events has actually put Disney Dreamlight Valley in hot water in the past. One of the most notorious holiday-related controversies Disney Dreamlight Valley has faced was the theming of the Night Show Star Path. Around the holidays, Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Star Paths tend to be themed to the festivities in some way. For example, the Frost and Fairies Star Path coincided with December, featuring snowy decorations while not being outright Christmas-themed. Many players expected the Night Show Star Path to be spookier, considering it coincided with October. Fortunately, Disney Dreamlight Valley’s most recent holiday mishap was far from controversial, as the game decided to prank its player base for April Fools' Day.
What Could a Disney Dreamlight Valley Star Wars Spin-Off Look Like?
Disney Dreamlight Valley has hit great heights, but it might be time for another Disney property to take a swing at the simulation genre.
Dreamlight Stompers are an April Fools' Prank
Across Disney Dreamlight Valley’s social media profiles on April 1, a post advertising a new item in the game’s next update was uploaded at 7 a.m. PST. The post depicted an avatar with green sparkling shoes with the caption: “Wish you could break down your crafted items? In our next update, use the BRAND NEW Dreamlight Stompers to SMASH’EM TO PIECES!”. Players were quick to consider how these Dreamlight Stompers could be used, curious if the resources used to craft the “stomped” items would return to their inventory.
Exactly two hours later, at 9 a.m. PST, Disney Dreamlight Valley posted across all their socials yet again. The new picture shows the same avatar from the previous post posing next to what appears to be an Alice in Wonderland-themed gizmo. “Alright, April Fools! While there are no Dreamlight Stompers arriving the next update… there is… this… peculiar thing,” read the post’s caption. Disney Dreamlight Valley has been teasing its Spring update for quite some time. While players may be disappointed that the Dreamlight Stompers aren’t a real item, at least Disney Dreamlight Valley made up for this prank with the Alice in Wonderland teaser.
Why the Dreamlight Stompers Genuinely Belong in DDV
It seems that the April Fools' Day prank has piqued the interest of players despite their disappointment. Across all of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s posts related to the prank, players are describing their interest in the Dreamlight Stompers actually being added to the game. A version of the Dreamlight Stompers that would return used resources back to players after an item is “stomped” could actually prove quite useful. Some players have likened this kind of gameplay to recycling. Considering the various players must craft for Star Paths, having an object like the Dreamlight Stompers to break down those items would save players a lot of resources.
Players have been asking for an object like the Dreamlight Stompers for quite some time. In fact, many players mentioned this in the comments of the various Disney Dreamlight Valley posts, alongside complaints that the item was an April Fools' prank. While actually getting the Dreamlight Stompers is obviously the goal, at the very least, Gameloft seems to be aware of this player request. Disney Dreamlight Valley has implemented player requests in the past. Perhaps the Dreamlight Stompers will be the next player wish that is fulfilled.
The Dreamlight Stompers won’t be coming in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s next update. However, the update is practically confirmed to be Alice in Wonderland-themed at this point. This April Fools' prank may seem cruel to some, but curious things are on their way to Disney Dreamlight Valley.
