Unlike Oswald, both Mulan and Mushu follow the standard pattern in terms of when you unlock their first friendship quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley. In order to start Mushu's first friendship quest, you will have to be at least Level Two with him. Giving him one or two of his daily favorite items will be more than enough to get you to Level Two.

To start Mushu's story off, he is worried about The Forgetting and how it may cause him to forget everything again. In order to help him remember, he needs your help with building a large statue of a dragon. Here is how you can complete "A Reminder in Stone".

Collect Lucky Bugs

disney dreamlight valley a reminder in stone walkthrough 2

Head back to the Mulan Realm and look for bugs to catch. They aren't particularly difficult to spot, as they leave a golden trail behind them as they move. They are too quick to chase, so watch the pattern of their movement and then stand so that they are running toward you. By doing this, you can interact with them and catch them when the prompt comes up. Once you've caught all three, bring them back to Mushu.

Find the Perfect Spot

For your next objective, Mushu will task you with taking incense around three areas of Dreamlight Valley to find the perfect spot for the statue. Do not glide while doing this quest step. Roam through the Peaceful Meadow, The Plaza, and Dazzle Beach to complete this step. After that, find Mushu and talk to him again. Mushu will ask you where the statue should be put, but it doesn't matter which answer you choose.

Craft the Statue

Regardless of whether you've decided where you'd like the statue to go, the next step is to make the statue in question. To craft it, you will need to gather 40 Stone and 25 Softwood. After you've gathered all the required materials, craft the statue and then place it somewhere in Dreamlight Valley. Once that is finished, talk to Mushu. While he is happy about the statue being finished, he feels like it could use some more decoration.

For this next step, you will need 10 red flowers, five garnets, five aquamarines, and five topazes. Unlike Mulan's first friendship quest, you can use materials you have already gathered. If you are short on gems, bringing a long a companion with the mining role can help speed up the process of gathering the materials.

As long as the flowers have "Red" in the name, they will count for this quest.

You will also need to have all the materials in your inventory before you can proceed, so make sure you have room for everything. Once you are ready, find Mushu and give him the materials. As a finishing touch, Mushu asks you to take one of the Garnets and place it on the statue. Find Mushu and talk to him again to begin setting up lighting. Equip your trusty pickaxe and head down to Dazzle Beach.

Mushu uses his flame breath to ignite the one torch, and it is up to you to take care of the other two. Approach the torches and interact with them. Finally, talk to Mushu one more time to complete this quest.
